What the hell got into him??

He is having his best overall playoff game in about 10 years..........it is not boxscore stuff, but he is literally everywhere at once

Still a long series, and plenty left in this game
But Denver is in trouble if Howard keeps this up in the series.

He knows its his chance to contribute and the team actually needs him to play that way. Even though he accepted it, he didn't really like having to sit out the last match up.

I was literally the first person on here who said the Lakers shouldn’t play McGee or Howard at all against the Rockets.

You said AD should play a lot of 5 against Denver. The matchups are totally different.

Dwight Howard was a catalyst for the Lakers last night. Getting Jokic and others in foul trouble and containing Joker defensively with little help.

The reason the Lakers are going to win this series is because they can put guys like Howard and McGee on Jokic for 30+ minutes and keep Davis fresh.

You were wrong about playing Davis at the 5 in this matchup.

All of their stars getting 3 fouls was strange, but it's on them to not foul when the refs are calling tick tac fouls

The only one I didn't like was the 2 and 1's with Lebron...Those were really close

Jokic got called for a couple ticky tack fouls in the first half that I didn’t like.

But, he also got tangled up with Davis after a defensive rebound and Davis fell over with the ball. A very clear foul that should have been a travel if not called.

The ref said play on to avoid giving Jokic his 5th foul.

At that point the game was still within reach for the Nuggets.

For the conspiracy theorists out there, that play alone should prove there was no fix.

Everyone here talked about how LA needed to attack Jokic to get him in foul trouble. Well, guess what they did.

I am not sure if the Lakers attacked Jokic as much as Dwight Howard did.

Will be interesting to see if the Lakers reward him with a start in game 2. I think he earned it. Also gives them the best chance to get Joker in foul trouble.

Speed Kills

The Lakers score in about a nanosecond down the court. They look like Usain Bolt racing Jabba the Hutt.

Denver can still win the series, but they have to play in the half court.

The Lakers will run them off the court 4-0 if they keep this a transition game.

Denver can get back in it for sure, but they have to do a few things better:

1) Defend without fouling
2) Take care of the basketball
3) They have to establish a 3rd scorer

Lakers did an excellent job attacking the paint and limiting the Nugget role players in game 1. It is on Mike Malone to adjust.

They talked about it last night. I think it was Reggie Miller who said "He knows that this is his best and last chance to get a ring". That's why he agreed to a non-guaranteed contract.
