what's the local feeling about Elway? any concern that other than Peyton falling in his lap he's been a disaster finding QBs?

In the eyes of too many Broncos fans (not all of them) Sir Elway can do no wrong. Which I find bizarre. It's like there's some kinda unwritten law in the state that speaking the truth about Mr. Ed as a GM is a no-no. His QB selections of Osweiler (2nd rounder), Lynch (1st rounder) + giving Keenum that contract are really head sctratchers. And unlike some of my Broncos friends I still don't get the Flacco signing.

what I said earlier....too many fans treat sports like politics. Make up their mind on a guy and will be 100% for or against him no matter what he does.

Someone wants to like Elway for what he did as a QB and even helping with the D to win a SB? OK, I get it....doesn't mean you cannot speak the truth and recognize that for whatever reason the HOF QB cannot find a QB who doesn't fall in his lap.

Maybe he can strike lightening in a bottle, Rodgers goes down, GB falls to the #1 pick and takes a QB and releases AR.

Ummm.... No!

because only 48 people voted for Mayfield out of 1000's of Hoop posters.

Therefore it is obvious most people dont think that. Only 48!

I feel it’s incumbant upon me to point out that potato salad ALMOST got as many votes as Wentz

discuss...

Late to the party on this one, but I went with Wentz.

You have to like what you see as a Brown's fan and be somewhat concerned if you're an Eagles fan, but going off their current body of work, Wentz has shown more...really would like to see Mayfield play out this 2nd yr.

What is the body of work that impresss you about wentz or is it more the limited body of work you get with mayfield?

I'd like to see Mayfield in years 2 and 3, but the Wentz injuries scare the shit out of me. He could come back BBC and be healthy but the history is too big to ignore. If I had to rule the dice of only one of the two I'm going with Mayfield as of right now.

I would rather have Mayfield because Wentz seems like an injury prone QB I would be scared to give him a huge contract extension seems like the team looked better with foles under center than Wentz.

The hardest thing to do in the NFL is be the head coach/QB of the Cleveland browns and turn around that culture and win. I feel if you can bring wins the browns you can win games anywhere

Looks like there wasn't much of a fight from Wentz, I don't blame him...he is always injured on the bench lol

I think more of the limited body of work with Mayfield. I've seen young QBs start hot (RG3, Dak Prescott notables) that were not able to sustain a high level of play once the tape was out on them. Not grouping Mayfield with those players, but I need to see more of him than I do Wentz. We're talking a lot about Wentz's injury concerns, and I'm not sure if Mayfield has even taken a flush hit yet....that's how little we've seen.

Fair points...you're taking the snapshot of Mayfield's career and banking on that over the health of Wentz...If Wentz only had one major injury I would say you're jumping the gun, but in this instance I can't really say that.

Again, fair points.

I'm taking the risks that Wentz is not injury prone and those were just two fluke injuries...big risk, I know.
