Entering week 8 of the season the Broncos have been given a 98.5% chance of making the playoffs and a 97.64% chance of winning the division according to Number fire.

Since 1970 only two teams started 6-0 but outscored their opponents by a combined 50 points or less. That other team was the 6-0 Colts of the 2006 season. That team went on to win the Super Bowl.

Denver is now the 14th team since the merger to win 4 road games in its first 6 games and start 5-1 or 6-0. 8 of the previous 13 made the Super Bowl.

The broncos haven't beat the Packers since that SB win. They're due. I predict a 31-24 win for the Broncos!

Pack wins 17 to 16 on last second field goal
17-16. Last year that prediction would of been laughable but with both D's playing very well and both offenses not looking as explosive as before so far, that score is quite reasonable. Could be both kickers and the defences lead in scoring in this one. :)

Keys to the game for Denver:

I think the front seven is going to have to get a lot of pressure on Rodgers, early and often. Aaron Rodgers is not known for making mistakes throwing the ball, so if he is given time and protection by his line he could tear apart even our great secondary.

On offense, we need to get the passing game going. I would love to see Manning come out in the shotgun. We need to do something different, even if just for this week. This could catch the Packers off-guard as well as give the offense some much-needed rhythm and confidence. Of course, the O-line will be critical to anything we do, so they will have to step up their game. The extra week of rest should help there.

If the offense uses the shotgun throughout much of the game, and has success, this will have the added benefit of making it harder for teams to game plan for our offense, which is becoming increasingly easier to do. We could potentially develop a Jeckyll and Hyde type of offense, which would be either one or the other of two disparate offensive systems, as opposed to a mix of the two. Just a thought.

One final thought. With both teams having two weeks to prepare for each other, I think the coaching staffs will play an even bigger role than usual in the outcome of this game. This will be a great chance to see how they measure up.

Looking forward to this one.

I've set my DVR for this one. All I ask from the football Gods is that no one gets hurt. This looks like it could be a "Last man Standing" kind of game.

Good luck to both teams.

My keys for the Broncos to get a victory over the Packer is #1 get pressure on Rodgers but keep him in the pocket. When Rodgers is out of the pocket that's when he is most dangerous and seems to look for James Jones down the field. #2 Don't fall for his hard count which will be tougher to do on the road but that depends on how many Broncos fans over Packers fans show up. When he gets a gets a free play he will throw it deep. He is the best in the NFL in my opinion when it comes to drawing players offsides. #3 The Broncos can not turn the ball over. Giving the ball back to Rodgers more times then we want to see the Packers have it would not work out in Denver's favor. The Packers do give up a lot of yards on defense but are very strong in the red zone. Just ask the Chargers. Hopefully the offense can pick it up because if Denver ends up in a shoot out with the packers even though the Packers offense has struggled of late I just don't see Denver winning that style of game. Broncos 24 Packers 23.

I really hope that the Broncos are ready for that. They should train those guys that if you jump offsides, just keep on going. Don't even try to get back because Rodgers will kill you. Just keep going and make the officials blow the play dead.

I think he was saying that will be harder for Rodgers to pull off because he's on the road. At least that's how I read it.

Maybe so. Been a long time since I've been to a game in Denver, but I sure don't recall opposing fans drowning out our fans.

While not likely to drown out our own fans, a lot of Packers fans present will lessen the impact.

Alright update for the day...

Injury wise Shane Ray was the only player that sat out practice today. Manning did practice for the first time on a Wednesday.

If the Broncos win on Sunday it would put Manning into a tie with Brett Favre for most wins in a career.

Yes I know it's in Denver I said that in above post but Packers fans travel like crazy. There were to many Vikings fans at the Broncos game that I wasn't to thrilled about. He still has a great hard count.

Totally agree with this - that's how I was taught to play too.

It's nice to play vs a great team with fans I respect unlike the seachickens. Here's some interesting facts: GB is 8-1 after the bye under coach MM but 1-10 vs teams over .500 on the road for the last 4 years. I believe that if Manning doesn't cost Den with any TO's that Denver should win by at least a TD. Rodgers struggles vs good D's and has just had his worst three game stretch that I can remember. Getting back Adams, Montgomery and Lacey becoming healthy should help but I am skeptical.
