Here's the clip of the Pats for anyone that missed it (sorry Pats fans, this must be painful but by God it's amusing as hell).

Have at it. Pats deserve all the laughs. As a fan, can’t do more than scratch your head, and yes, laugh too.

Seriously you do have to laugh because of the shit play that it was, team doesn't matter. And you never expect that out of a Belichick coached team, yeah maybe the Browns :D, but never the Patriots.

In all it was a crazy week and another that will get overlooked was the Lions winning TD. How do you let a backup TE run down the field like that and burn your safety that far down the field (granted there was a blocker there but still!)? The Lions needed a TD and all the Jets had to do is wrap him up anywhere since a FG didn't matter.

That was flat out a great playcall.

Why more teams dont take advantage of green dog blitzes like that has always been a mystery to me. But it was a simple man coverage scheme. That TE showed he was blocking so the guy that was supposed to be covering him rushed the passer. Pretty simple to fool most LB's, especially in that situation where it was 4th and 1, into rushing the passer in that situation and leak out late for a gigantic gain.

Funny part is Burrow has a YPA of 5.0 for the game as of this post. Not exactly been a lightshow.
To be fair - 1 - TB's defense did a great job early on...

in the 2nd half though, almost all of the offensive drives started within FG range in TB territory - hard to get a lot of yards when you are already that close to the redzone/endzone...LOL

Every single play of the 3rd quarter was run in TB territory...not a single snap, or play, was run in Bengal territory.

Very rarely do you see the last play of the game heave into the endzone get any pass interference

like 75 years of precedent, that the referees are going to let them play

It has always been an unwritten rule, no matter how much slow motion replay afterwards.

It wasn't a "heave" though. On a hail mary when there's a crowd going for the ball, I get it. But that was just a normal short pass play. No excuse for the ref there. They have to call that.

Bro c mon now. How the refs supposed to call it when it’s the players themselves doin it all the time.. refs let the players decide on that one

C'mon man. Suppose the D just tackles all receivers on the final play snap.. the refs shouldn't call that either? A line has to be drawn somewhere and PI as blatent as that is over that line.

I can't stand the argument to "Refs need to let the players decide"...

If a player commits a foul/penalty - then the player IS deciding the game with their play. If the Ref DOES NOT call the penalty that occurs, then the REF is deciding the game, NOT the players.

This argument is so silly and tired and it's not even remotely correct. If a player commits a penalty/foul - it is 100% the players deciding the game. Only when the Ref decides to not do their job in calling said foul/penalty - are they deciding the game. Calling the penalty is the Refs job - that does not constitute them deciding the game....

The problem is going to be when it actually does get called now. That’s the problem, no consistency. Because after seeing that I’m coaching my team to do it on the last play always

I thought it was a very confusing officiated game toward the redskins, but I also thought somehow the giants played the better game and deserved the win. Giants are way overachieving right now. Not uncommon though with a first year head coach. Also, Danny jones should want to play redskins all 17 games. He always seems to have his best games against them.

Maybe, but that one wasn't really marginal. The DB was climbing all over him before the ball got there. Couple that with the illegal formation call at the same time where McLaurin seemed to be checking with the ref to make sure his position was correct. Idk for sure that's what he was doing, but it looked like it. They call that trash but let the DB mug the WR on the very next play? If I was a Washington fan I'd be pissed.

It’s aggravating but they’re not going anywhere, so it’s a little easier to take, and they made too many mistakes to win. Not counting the penalties. 49ers gonna feast on that Oline Saturday

I’m as sick as the next fan as to what goes on with football and basketball with all the clutching and grabbing of uniforms.

Either call it all the time so it stops or don’t call it at all!

I agree it was a great play call. The Jets blew it big time on that play.

It's never going stop. Get that silly thought out of your mind. Defenders are taught to grab when they are beaten. A 5 yard holding penalty or a PI is better than giving up a TD.

The main reason they do it, imo, is because they get away with it about half of the time, too

Yup. It's totally worth it for the defense. But even if it were called 100% of the time, it's still worth it, especially if the flag is the 5 yard holding penalty.

You would need some kind of system with escalating penalties or a foul out system if you really want to punish the grabbing. And yes, WR's should be flagged too if they grab.
