Can the Vikings rebound?

49 total pts is the line... Eagles -6.5 is the line...

Does Swift become the workhorse in Gainwell's absence, or does an activated Penny or Boston Scott take that role?

No idea what to expect tonight. Last week the two new coordinators got out coached by Belichick and O’Brien. Eagles defense is missing 3 starters in Nakobe Dean, Bradberry, and Bradberry. I think the Eagles matchup well vs their OL. I worry about the banged up secondary holding up. JJ was held down last year in this game so I’m thinking he comes in with a little bit of an extra edge. I’m very worried about the Eagles new OC Brian Johnson.

Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) will not play in Week 2 against the Vikings.
Gainwell suffered the rib issue in Week 1 and was unable to practice this week. His absence will leave plenty of touches for D’Andre Swift, who played 19 snaps and logged one carry plus one catch in his Philly debut. Rashaad Penny was a healthy scratch in his first game with the Eagles but will now be active alongside Boston Scott and Swift. The Eagles’ backfield is a nightmare to untangle, but Swift has the best shot at returning RB3 numbers on the week.

I'm a little surprised that the line on the game is only 7 points.

That’s a pretty big line in the NFL between two teams that won double digit games last year.

The double-digit wins for the Vikes last year was a statistical anomaly, given their negative point differential on the season.
So if we take that into consideration instead of being 13-4 they’re what? 9-8? 10-7? 7 is a big line in the NFL.

Home field is worth 2-3 points alone (especially on a short week) and the Eagles are the defending conference champions. Doesn't seem out of line to me without notable injuries. Any injuries (and a blah win last week) make it maybe a little strong? That could be a push from the Philly faithful to that number though...

I don’t disagree. I was responding to a poster who seemed like he was saying it should be larger. Maybe I misread it.

I’m playing Vikings +6.5 and over 49 points. I think it’s a 34-31 type game that could go either way. Last year ain’t this year and the Eagles need some work. They have some real question marks at OC and DC. The early season schedule for the Eagles is forgiving for them to learn on the fly but they still need to grow into their roles.

I didn't factor in the post you were responding to.

I believe they are honoring the escaped convict at halftime….
Yep. They’ve scheduled an elaborate game of hide and seek. How was the wedding weekend? Clearly you made it out of the city alive so the major mission was accomplished.

The Loews hotel was tremendous, valet parking was a huge plus, took a trolley to the reception, passed a bunch of tranqs lying on the ground on one side street……reception was excellent, bolted before dessert to hit 101 Speakeasy to meet a law school friend of my wife…..great place, need a membership to get in….went to the Philly Terminal Market, could live there, great variety of food…..positive visit

I like the Vikings...plus I have to make up for the fact that I chose them in the eliminator pool for Week 1...thus dooming their chances against Tampa.

At least I don't have to make any more picks this season...
