Still a few games away, he doesn't seem to have the same confidence he had in the first few games.

I don't mean to crap on Darnold, he seems like a nice guy with a neat story of finding some success with the Vikings. That being said, he's now had just as many classical pre-Vikings Darnold-tier performances this year as he has good outings, and they are all the recent ones. I just can't see abandoning the guy they went decently out of their way to draft over a mostly known commodity in Darnold.

Or he has too much confidence in just slinging it and it is backfiring finally.

He's made me think of a discount bargain bin version of Brett Favre out there the last few games. It's one thing with Favre, but it's another with Darnold.

Gotta say, Aaron Jones does not impress me in the least.

I hear ya, man, I really do. The guy isn't perfect, that's for sure. However, everytime I find myself feeling particularly down about an RB on the Vikings, I remember that it wasn't all that long ago that I got spoiled with watching a prime Adrian Peterson rot away with incompetant QB's for a decade while making a legend of his raw rushing abilities. So in a way, it's kind of spoiled me about RB's, even though I know better than to go by that standard logically speaking.

With all that in mind... I don't wanna know how I'd feel about our usual QB issues this franchise has had if I had just gotten done with decades of Favre and Aarond Rodgers only to have to switch from that to Jordan Love, even if the guy is solid there's just no comparison lol

They deserve to lose. They just let everything that could have gone wrong during the last 2 minuted possible in fact go wrong. Sheesh.

Hmmm...

i didn't see it, but I suppose if he agreed to be backup next year as insurance for JJ as Darnold is most likely gone

sorry for doubting you @DJ Fieri

I'm wondering if Darnold is on a short leash.

If this is all true. It's just to get Nick Mullens off the team when we make a playoff push. You see Darnold getting hurt. Even if he comes back right away.... If he does not and we need something better than Mullens if we are in a playoff game.

I doubt it has anything to do with Darnold and no reason we're moving away from him this season

Jones was actually signed to our practice squad, he's not even the backup. I think it's about next season and insurance for JJ

They need to find a running game if they're going to do anything...if they make the playoffs.

They'll be in the playoffs

They'll be a one and done wildcard team at the current rate. Not bad for a season where they brought in a QB who didn't pan out elsewhere while they wait for J.J. McCarthy for next year, but I've seen so many seasons like this by them that it just doesn't excite me that much. Seen the movie too many times to not see the writing on the wall, I guess.

I still can't root for the Pack tonight.

I'd have an easier time rooting for them tonight if I weren't so confident that the Vikes will lose the game in Detroit and blow the division regardless. Main reason to root for the Lions tonight is to hope for better wildcard positioning against the Pack. So, in that sense, it still kinda makes sense to root for Detroit even from a purely logicistal standpoint.
