It can be argued that Pete C. was out coached. He failed to recognize the D that was on the field, while the Pats knew exactly what O was on the field and responded to it.

Not sure what you're talking about here, Carroll reading your defense on the field is exactly why they went with the pass play. You had your big goal line crew out there with 8 on the line and your CBs playing cover 0...that's a defensive formation that screams PASS.

The coaches didn't win or lose this game...Butler did.

Never in the history of the NFL has there been this much blame placed on a coach on a 2nd down play when is offense turns the ball over.

For those putting all the blame on the coach, what you are saying is he should have never trusted Wilson to either make a completion or insure the ball is not picked.
It was 2nd down. If you can't trust your QB to not turn the ball over then what is the point.

your team single-handedly corrupted an entire sport for at least a decade and never won anything without it.

Except for one obvious schizophrenic I've unfortunately encountered on two different forums, you may be the single most delusional person I've ever encountered on the internet.

Or else you're pretending to be as part of a trolling business model.

Add to that Butler during post game interviews talked about how they practiced defending that specific play by Seattle.

"Malcom Go!"

And he did.

Exactly. The out-coaching was in the preparation, not in the game-time play-calling.

That also applies to the absurd slowness in getting plays off on the final drive, which contributed to the perceived necessity of making that call. For coaches to prevent that they would have had to have taken care of it during practice.

But seriously, OP way to kick us when were down. jesus

I would call it VERY luck the Seahawks were even in the game given the way Green Bay handed the NFCCG to you.

When it comes to the Pats, no speculation is needed

Psych meds are a big business, and eventually they'll find some that work for you.

Brutal. It's like they had the game already won but then they lost. My heart goes out to Seattle.

Maybe its just me but I thought the Hawks were expecting a NE TO after the 1st down run to the 1 with Lynch. Everyone watching was sure Lynch would get it again to punch it in so when the TO never came, they decided to maybe surprise NE and throw? It just didn't work. It wasnt a dumb idea but playing BB, KISS method would be enough. How fitting would it have been for Seattle to win a SB on a power run by Lynch?

Personally, once I saw the formation, my first thought was "WTF are they doing?" followed by "Oh Wilson is going to run it in!"

No mater what, no matter what! You hand the ball to Lynch .... That was the worst coaching decision in a long time... Seattle had plenty of time with a time-out in there hip pocket... Hand the FUCKING ball to Lynch and were having a very different conversation... If Seattle ran it on second down and didn't get it in they were fine... They could a got there hog mollies in, ran hurry up and ran it again on 3rd down.. .If they got stuffed again USE the time-out... Run your final play to decide the whole dam thing... Odds were in Seattle's favor to just run the ball with Lynch.... coaching staff panicked when they didn't have too ... Bevell is a moron and Pete should a took charge and MADE Bevell go to Lynch.... end of story....

Good post. Carroll entrusted his QB to make the right decision and he was let down. It's not to say that Wilson is a bad QB, it just says he mad a bad decison and they lost because of it. Coaching against BB is a chess match and Carroll made the right decision, IMO.

It was the right call, but BB, the defense, and Butler were completely ready for it. I don't understand the blame on Carroll as they wanted to try a pass on one of the plays down there. It makes sense to pass once, but it happened to end very badly and everyone wants to second guess it now. If Wilson throws a TD pass, everyone is seconding guessing BB for not calling a TO and leaving no time for a comeback. BB/defense/Butler were prepared for that formation and Butler made a big time play.

Anyone that say's otherwise needs there heads checked.... You have the best back in the league for that situation... You have a FB that is dam near 300 pounds... LINE him up ahead of Lynch and RUN THE DAM FOOTBALL!!!!!!!! Why anyone would support running a slant route there has a football IQ of -100 That's the riskiest play you can possibly run that close to the end-zone...

It doesn't matter what the Patriots did or what they showed... You line up and see who can push who... No back in the league breaks through contact like Lynch... There is a reason there calling it the worst play call in Super Bowl history... Coaching staff blew it ...
