Okafor and that entire 76ers team needs veteran leadership on that team so bad, not that it'd prevent stuff like this happening but it'd help. I just looked at their team roster, the only guy listed who isn't younger than 25 years old is Carl Landry and I don't think he even plays for them.

How do you like his defense?

Sure I'll give you that - one of the negatives against him coming out of college was his defense

I live in Colorado so I haven't had that many opportunities to catch a Sixers game - for some odd reason the 0-17 Sixers are not at the top of the list when it comes to nationally televised games and I don't have league pass - so the only "stat" at the moment I can go by is the "+/-" stat for the season

For the year so far Oakfor is at a -12.3 pts/game so yes that's pretty bad
The Sixers overall is a bad defensive team - overall they are also at -12.3 pts/game

So as bad as Okafor is at defensive going by +/- it isn't just him
I'm hoping someone can work with him on his defense - he is just a rookie so still room to grow there
In the meantime I'll take the 18 pts/g and 8 reb/g

In comparison Russell is at -7.1 pts/g (with Lakers as a whole at -9.3 pts/g) so going by that stat he also isn't lighting it up on defense
He is a rookie and also has room to grow there

The other note here though is that it has come out that Okafor was clocked doing 108 mph
I'm pretty lenient about off the field or off the court activities but there is some concern now with Okafor because he is starting to show a pattern of behavior here - time to grow up
