The Detroit part is true, but not just because of the city. Both their great eras were base on defense and we all know that it is splashy offense that is sexy and sells.

I'll be honest. I just wanted to take a shot a Detroit. My bad. Hey Detroit, at least you're not ann arbor right? :heh:

Likewise, the Knicks seem awfully arrogant for not having won anything for 40 years just because they have a huge population.

Between the Knicks, Jets, Islands & Rangers not much celebrating going on with those teams. A whole bunch of nothing for a long time.

Giants too. Only the Yankees and Mets have done much and it ain't much. Yankees haven't won since 2009 and Mets since 1986

I thought he meant lately, the teams he listed have been good but not for a long time.

Basically New York hasn't seen a title in the 4 major sports since 2011 (Giants), and that's with 7 teams competing (8 if you include Brooklyn now)

Dear Pistons:

You are killing us with your 80 point games. Cut it out.

There are many places that wish they had A championship as recently as 2011. That ain't that long ago you young whipper-snapper.

I will say this: had this poll been done ten years ago detroit more than likely hits the top 5 of this, they had 11 conf finals appearances in what...23 seasons, ?

But I like what Weaver is doing and the Knicks are one of the worst ran franchises in sports. So I feel supremely confident Detroit will accomplish more in the next decade than NY. As they have for the last 40 years even with this recent stretch over the last decade plus.

Fair, but 8 teams in play and the clock keeps ticking.

If we could have just slowed it down more and held them under 60!

Even though Joe had his faults taking that roster and making a champion out of it was pretty damned impressive.

I don't even remember that game, and maybe there's a reason why. LOL.
One reason might be if you remember random playoff games from 20 years ago you would need to seek help
