They probably would have been good in an 82 game sched anyway. The signs of improvement have been there for a while...worse is they are likely going to keep getting better

Feaster got a 5th round pick for him. Considering all Garth got was cap space that's a win for Feaster. Very good day. Ray Ferraro blasted Feaster & Flames management for waiting too long to trade guys. Ferraro is probably right, but I do think Feaster handled the situations involving Iginla & Kipper with class.

Apparently Gillis wanted Scrivens & draft picks for Luongo. I can't blame Nonis one bit for saying NO. I don't think it's going to be any easier to trade that contract in the offseason. Miller only has 1 year left on his deal. The Kings might decide it's time to trade Bernier. Mike Smith, Nicklas Backstrom amongst others will be UFA's.

Luongo said it himself, his contract SUCKS.

The more I look at the Bishop-Conacher trade the more I can see how Murray ripped Stevie Y off. Bishop is a good enough netminder but playing behind that awful D in Tampa ruined Lindback too. Meanwhile Ottawa gets a guy second in rookie scoring and still has a stud goalie in Lehner.

Asset management. The Lightning have forwards in their system who aren't that far away like Brett Connolly. I like the trade for both clubs. Yzerman knows he has to improve the D. The question is how will he go about it.

making three pitches to T.O. in the last hour (apparently) just reeks of the pretty girl (Nonis in this case) who is just not interested, and the ugly boy (Gillis) having no alternatives.
I certainly hope T.O.'s goaltending goes in the shitter by the end of the year, just so Nonis doesn't grow all smug (also, because fuck Toronto, that's why), but honestly don't know where the answer lies.

There's something fishy about Filip Forsberg (and I'm not saying that just for cheap alliteration). First his stock dropped for some reason on draft day and now GMGM sends him packing for Martin Erat? Don't get me wrong, Erat is a pretty good player, but maybe there are some warning signs that Forsberg may not be the player that everyone thinks he is.
