That is a great trivia question, soxfan.

And, we need another. Anyone out there a good trivia question asker? I am terrible, either making the questions too hard or too easy, so I stick to answering.

Becasue no trivia question should be left hanging - The Seniors (NOT old guys, NOT in the 4th year of high school, but hispanic males)

D, I think it was the Senors....with the ~ over the 'n'.

Ricky Williams played some minor league baseball. Did Roy Jones Jr. play pro basketball at some point?

In the Phillies org, I am pretty sure.

As for Roy Jones Jr., I think he only technically would qualify, as I think he got into 1 game, mostly as a publicity stunt. And, he played either in the D league, or some other old minor league opperation.

When you start including guys with minor league experience the list gets very very long, seems better to stick to guys with top level major league experience. Roy Jones Jr. I believe played very briefly in a low level pro league but I can't remember which league it was since I'm not a big basketball fan so I only really tend to remember NBA, D league and CBA... oh, and that league that you had to be shorter than 6'5" to play in that John Starks came from, WBL I think?

I think that was the general idea. However, the question has pretty well played out its course, with us now needed a new question to ponder.

JMO on that, of course.

I suspect there are still lots of guys that we're missing. I had to think pretty hard to remember Tom Brown, and there are probably a lot of guys like that that aren't particularly well remembered in either of their sports.

Drew Henson - football and baseball

Walter Payton - Football and auto racing

Yeah, you're right, there are probably dozens that played lower level dual sports professionally. I honestly didn't remember if Jones did or not. Just remember a lot of Hun bub about it back in the day.

Dick Groat was another

Lots of tall basketball playing pitchers

Gene Conley pitched and also played for the Celtics
Mark Hendrickson
Dave Debusschere (sp?) played briefly in MLB
He is also the only player to win championships in multiple major sports as he was a member of the 1957 Milwaukee Braves that won the World Series and a member of the Celtics that won the title from 1959-1961.

I'm just going to throw in a few more questions:

Who is the only player to win the MVP award despite leading the league in both errors and strikeouts?

Who are the only 8 players and the only 2 managers who have had their numbers retired by multiple teams?

Sparky Anderson(I was there for his #11 going up in Detroit) and Casey Stengel. It's gotta be.(Sparky might not have his # retired in Cincy, idk) Guessing on players, Frank Robinson, Harold Baines, Nolan Ryan, Babe Ruth (did he have a RS#?), Gary Carter, Andre Dawson, Rod Carew, and maybe a Niekro?
