yes to the talents but his whole story is remaining upright.

I think he's going to do well at the start of the season. I'm glad we don't play in the first half.
I agree,so I'll ask, what's going on with Jerrah or whoever is handling contracts?

it's that gold jacket.

let me ask...If Jerry has indeed offered 33M per with Jefferson making 35 and knowing Chase will most likely command 33 plus.

who's the bad guy?

It seems like a pretty fair offer, but NFL players have been conditioned to become the highest paid, even if it's temporary. In this case, I think that the organization had to take the "L" for stringing this pretty obvious offer along for as unnecessarily long as they did.

This team has no #2 as Jahan, Dyami and rookie McCaffery are not it. We all knew this. But save your money because were not supposed to try to win now, maybe next year, lol. That line of logic and not surrounding your rookie jewel with talent to be as good as he can be for a rookie is per ponderous. Btw, we have no real OT's other than Coleman and that's asking a lot of him as well.
again i will say at what cost ? when i get to my prediction thread i will tell you why we shouldnt give up future resources for a quick fix especially when next years FA wont require us to do so

They agree with both of us @dad. Right guy wrong timing IMO. Right guy, right timing as you've suggested.

Commanders Should Turn Focus to Signing Franchise WR
The Washington Commanders should look ahead and pursue Cincinnati Bengals WR

Several of us have been stomping on the table for Higgins, Ayuik was fools gold.
We are thinking the same thing, maximize Daniel's growth asap. Get a free agent tackle asap. I don't think neglecting these needed uprgades will have dire consequences BUT i do think it will cost us a playoff win this year.

A rare in-division trade: Washington is sending former first-round pick Jahan Dotson and a fifth-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks, per sources.

No doubt, there will be sacks, no team goes through an entire season without them, but I believe that there's still some remaining bad tastes from last year's team behind this fear for his safety. Every team is concerned about the health of their QB, that's normal, but this stuff isn't IMO.

This is unreal!!! Trade to an inter division foe and Dotson knows our entire offense. This is not something I wanted to see from AP.
As Sty has mentioned, we have a depleted WR position, and we are doing JD no favors. I like the compensation, just not the team he was traded too.

I also said he could be traded before the season since his salary was a bargain with 3 years left including his 5th year option. My thinking was Washington could get more then they did in a trade.

Brown, Smith and Dotson. Mark those two games against the Iggles as losses. For a 7 win season they need to go 7-8 against the rest of their schedule.

Good point about Dotson knowing the offense. OUCH!!

With Dotson (whom I really liked from the start) this group of WR's was not the most talented. Now without Dotson, I believe they are one of the lower echelon WR groups in the NFL. Hopefully they are not finished adding talent to that position.

I don't think the problem was receiving, his blocking on run plays was kind of like a bullfighter waving a cape in front of the defender. I think it is more likely DQ addressed that with him and he never really showed any strong interest in improving. DQ is a knock your Richard into the dirt kind of guy.

Being a Penn State fan I know Franklin tends to coddle kids. Could be Dotson didn't take hard coaching. JMO but they gave him away at a loss but I think they just wanted him gone.

It's very hard to believe this is the final WR room. The guys that are left after Terry have done very little, less than Dotson.
