Was there anyone who actually thought Poles would be canned?
Just sharing a viewpoint, nothing more.
Seems many are hoping Poles gets the axe. The Sweat deal proves to me he won't.
Plus I like the deal.

Was there anyone who actually thought Poles would be canned? There is not a context here would that outcome makes sense. Unless he got MeToo'd or some shit.

Will he? Probably not. It'll probably be Eberflus and his staff. But it's not out the realm of possibility at this point. Poles has earned every possible criticism.

Give me a f*cking break with this guy.

We're 5-20 since he took over.

He's made two desperation trades at the trade deadline now because our personnel was so poorly placed at the positions he made the acquisitions. One of those acquisitions can be argued as a top 3 worst all-time trade by the Bears. The other probably could have been avoided and the player acquired in a few months in free agency.

We have now had two coaches (our rb's coach this morning...Our DC previously) fired for "HR reasons."

Poles says one thing (Build through draft and on the lines) and does completely the opposite (All our best players are trade/FA acquisitions-Moore/Edwards/Edmunds/assuming Sweat. I guess you could make an argument for Jaylon...Oh wait...We're in a contract dispute there...LOL. We've needed a center his entire tenure here...).

Our defensive-minded HC, who was hired after Poles was brought on, has a defense that couldn't stop a wet paper bag despite so many FA and draft acquisitions on defense.

We're a complete clusterf*ck with Poles two seasons in. Every other week since he came on is some ridiculously embarrassing fiasco. That management, including a brand new president of operations who most assuredly is concerned with the bullsh*t we're putting on the field, wouldn't even be considering "maybe Poles isn't the guy" is ridiculous at this point.

Sweat is a much better player than Young and is only one year older.

The stats are not even close.

Sweat is 3 years older
And Young has long term knee issues... Come to think about it, injured players are a "Bear's thing".

My issue with the Sweat trade is, I'm not hearing about any long term signing for him. If this is just a 1/2 year rental, this is an F- deal. If he signs for 4-5 years then B+.

The rest holds true tho...their stats are not even comparable. Sweat has been much more productive.

Here's the problem though. Sweat now has all the leverage in the world knowing Poles *has* to sign him.

True, but don't the Bears have loads of cap space for next year?

What do we say on odds of this guy being a franchise tag holdout vs getting extended at this point? 50/50?

LOL. I like poles trading back and cleaning house, but if we end up franchise tagging sweat, Poles has got to go. There’s no excuse for that. I don’t trust him to build a contender.
