Clarkson is like a young Lou Williams. He's a very nice scorer off the bench. He can come in and get points that the Cavs bench currently doesn't get. He's a little better defender than Lou, but he ain't winning any DPOY awards.

Nance is long, athletic and can jump out of the gym. He plays solid defense, is solid on offense and plays hard. He's a guy who knows his role and is happy to play it.

In short, the Cavs just got a little younger and a little better. This could get them out of the East, but won't get them a title.

For what it's worth, I don't like losing Nance, but I think both teams got what they need. Cavs got younger and more athletic. The Lakers get expiring contracts, unload Clarkson's contract and a pick.

Good deal for both teams, imo.

Thanks. Younger and more defensive is a move in the right direction, but yeah, the Warriors aren't even glancing up from their morning cup of coffee.

When James leaves......they'll have Love, Walker, Clarkson, Nance, and whatever else they have to try and rebuild....

Totally agree, but that can't trade it now, cause they have to have a 1st.

@gordontrue @Shanemansj13 As for JC, and Nance...you're getting 2 very Nice young players. JC is an athletic combo guard, and Nance is a do it all player, that will fit REALLY well coming of the bench. He's not a floor spacer however

Cavs might have just helped Lakers clear cap space for Lebron

Windhorst just said that this increases the Lakers chances of getting Lebron and increases the Cavs chances of keeping him.

He also said that this moves opens the cap space for the Lakers to get 2 max guys and that they can possibly use the pick to move Deng's contract and open up a near max 3rd spot.
