Just kidding, he's fair game. Not sure if you are joking or are frustrated right now (I thought you liked Smith). I'm expecting a better game this Thursday. While I didn't expect three INTs, I did expect a letdown this game, I just hoped the defense could withstand it (not three INTs, I mean a lesser letdown).

i was joking...he has a good season so far and i will give him the benefit of the doubt he was injured and it makes me wonder if that broken middle finger didn't have something to do with the way he threw the ball...

Well, I don't think there's anything missing from the D. They just held the Giants to 23 points (before the game was basically over) despite Alex throwing 3 interceptions. That's pretty good.

However, a pass-rushing specialist would be really nice to have. Brooks is playing very well, but the Niners could use someone to come in on obvious passing downs. I wanted one all offseason. It's why I wanetd Nick Perry in the draft.

In fact, I hope the Niners can find 2 situational pass-rushers. One to play OLB on passing downs and one to play DE on obvious passing downs.

Brooks plays very well at times, but is not a constant threat that QB's worry about. Also, Ray McDonald has yet to play at the level he was at last season. O-lines are focusing on the Smith's and thats about it. Consistant pressure from the left side would really take things to the next level (which would be scary)...

Honestly I think it had more to do with the route combination than his injured finger. The safties were teeing off and didn't even have to back pedal on two of the three ints, they is unacceptable.

On topic for the thread, throw in the usual suspects: Jacobs, Dixon, Ginn though I don't know that they'd get much. It'd be more to free up roster space and get some more rookies in.

It is simpleton logic.

If QBs can just swing for the fences and connect behind in the 2nd half, they would do it all the time. It isn't possible. There is a reason Adam Dunn hits .200

The other team has to make mistakes and or the defense/ST has to make a play.

Brady played bad yesterday but the KILLER was a piss-poor pass rush when they bit too hard up front on weak play-action and Sidney Rice got 2 yards behind the coverage somehow.

Well it's nice to have to pass rushers opposite one another however, Aldon needs to pick up his play. He won't be a dominate pass rusher if he's not playing at a high level.

Aldon needs to wake up for this.

Other than to start vs. GB and 1 play vs. the Jets

Last year it seemed like 50% of the time you watched Aldon he was getting home. Just that Monday night Steelers game he probably had more pressures and sacks than all this year.

4 man rush means the DBs need to make a play sometime or at least prevent completions. Rush is meh and coverage is not lock tight.
