I agree, it is high time for a NFL franchise here. Of course we're in the running for the shittiest of em all, but...

The Jaguars? :noidea:

Toronto wouldn't even know what to do if they got an NFL team. They don't even come close to filling up a stadium, and everyone shows up wearing a jersey from a different team. I think I saw a whole group of people one time wearing "Free Mandela" shirts to a game.

What's funny is since 2000, the Leafs and Sabres have each made the playoffs 6 times. Of those 6 playoffs, both teams have won 5 series. The main difference is that Toronto had a span of 9 years in between playoff appearances.

Yeah, but the Leafs are 32-46-5 against the Sabres since 2000, and we have a strong history of not throwing waffles on the ice.

Looks to me that the only point of driving 90 minutes to watch bad hockey in Buffalo as opposed to Toronto is if I have a desire to get carjacked leaving the arena.

Oh please...everyone knows that Canadians will gladly give away their car for free, and say their sorry while doing it.

Why the fuck are we adding four teams?

I don't understand it either. I think 30 teams is far to many. 26 was plenty. There just isn't enough high end talent to go around for 34 teams. All we have to do is look around the league to see that a number of teams don't have a true #1 center or #1 defenseman. One big concern I have is how they do the expansion draft. How many players will teams be allowed to protect? Will current teams have to include their prospects in the number of players they're allowed to protect? Depending on how the league decides to handle the expansion draft a number of teams could be hurt in a big way.

If Vegas got a team how quickly would we all be sick of the song "Viva Las Vegas"?

I think anything is worth a try given what Buffalo has done with their NFL team over the past 15 years. Fuck, the season hasn't started and the players are already so pent up about having to play for the Bills that they're beating each other up on a daily basis.

Didn't Ville Leino play for your team for the past 4 years?

The real reason the Red Wings have been holding onto Bertuzzi and Cleary.

"Need some of our players for expansion? Here you go!"

Talent pool is so damn diluted as it is, there's a team that's actually paying David Clarkson $5.5 million!

Maybe a team will claim him in the expansion draft in an effort to meet the cap floor? :noidea:

I don't know he put up 30 goals for the devils and made a trip to the finals. Maybe the lack of success is a Toronto thing :noidea:

Yeah, it's called tackling. :ohwell:

I wouldn't really call it "playing". Good thing the Leafs don't have any players getting paid over 5 mil a year while hardly scoring any points.

Clarkson was awful before he got to Toronto.

I mean, not awful, but not good. Certainly not $5.5 million good.

I've watched him play since he came into the league. He's far from awful not many players can fight and score. He ways worked hard on the boards and set a lot of plays up. He's a very productive player when used right. I was at the devils leafs fame last march first row visiting net. He looked lost you guys don't utilize him right he doesn't fit your system. But that's irrelevant after seeing the leafs on the ice clarkson is the least if your problems. The only one on the ice that looked good was Kessel

To be fair, that kid is way fucking happier than I've been at any point today.

This is more realistic:

I was at that game, too. Didn't exactly notice Clarkson. To be honest, the only time you noticed Clarkson all year was when he fell. Which he did. A lot.
