What are the stats for CT?
If Carolina switches to the West, I guess the current system can be changed to a free-for-all where you qualify for the playoffs based on conference standing alone, right?
Take out the uneven castle wall-like trim on the sleeve ends and the bottom and that is awesome.
Paul Allen wants a team in Portland and that will grow if there is a team in Seattle but will not pay the money that they want for an expansion team He'll shop for a distressed team and get it for pennies on the dollar He was in negotiations with the NHL before the Yotes finally got their lease renewed with new owners Looks like Sunrise might pull out on their subsidizing the Arena deal for the Panthers So if that scenario happened Seattle Portland or Vegas Quebec and GTA the toughest thing would be which team moves back West I can't see the Nords not in a division with the Habs so they would take the Panthers slot Seattle and Portland would be Pacific and cause you can't move Calgary and Edmonton apart Phoenix would slot into the Central I would expect that Seattle would be a relocation only cause they can get bigger $$$ from the Canadian teams but if Phoenix (and Florida) are the relocating west teams than the Flames and Oilers would move to the Central instead of the moving to the coast Yotes if it's the Hurricanes and Panthers it'd be pretty simple then Phioenix would move to the central Seattle and Portland Pacific and GTA and QC to the Atlantic. Okay apparently I have WAY too much time on my handsThat makes a lot more sense to me than 4 brand new teams entering the league.
The smartest thing they've done in a while was going back to regional playoff play. It creates rivalries, and if anything brings in the customers more than love it's hate..
How does it create rivalries? Besides bringing the two teams from the west into the east, all those teams already played each other six times a year. Sorry if I don't see a burgeoning Sabres-Panthers rivalry in the near or long term future.

Exactly. The good teams, that make the playoffs regularly, end up with rivalries because they end up playing each regularly.
As for a Buffalo-Florida rivalry? Why the hell they are in the same division is beyond stupid. Carolina and Florida for example would have been a better match or even Washington and Florida. The "Atlantic" division is just a disgrace.
Wait!! I think maybe I figured this one out.
They named it the Atlantic then frantically tried to get at least two teams in the Atlantic division who were actually even close to the Atlantic Ocean.
Bettman: Boston and......Boom! Miami. Well that settles that fellas.
Daly: But wouldn't it make more sense to put a couple of the New Yo...
Bettman <freakishly high pitched>: MIAMMMEEEEE!!
Daly: Yeesh. OK Gary. Miami it is.
Bettman: Hold on. What about a Gulf of Mexico division?
Daly: Sigh.
Come on Danny just admit you're getting moist at the idea.
I'd rather watch paint dry.
Fortunately for me, mapleleafs.com has that covered.
