Green Bay is deep at wide receiver but you just don't replace a 13 touchdown guy. It's that plain and simple but they of all teams have a chance to still be a real solid offense. As a lifelong Packers fan I'm just sick but also remember the last Super Bowl Green Bay won they had a simply horrible injury ridden season and found a way to overcome it. I think it goes down as one of the finest sporting achievements I can recall seeing all the injuries they overcame. Next man up.

My guess is it moves up Cobb and Adams, and Montgomery and Richard Rodgers will be drafted a lot more often.
don't laugh but I have Rodgers, Cobb and Adams on my fantasy team.

That is quite a list. You are obviously right that losing 16 players to season ending injury and still managing to win the SB is a remarkable achievment.

Also agree with you that losing Nelson is a tough break, it's not as if the season is over for GB. As you mentioned, the Packers are deep at WR. Hopefully Devante Adams and some of the other WRs step up.

No it didn't. Losing a white wide receiver isn't going to hurt any team. Detroit might improve though
Hey Hammer, can we file this one under idiotic post of the year?

This freaking newb is a real gem.

That sucks for Packers fans (rocks for everyone else in the NFC). That said... Rodgers makes that WR group better than it is. He still has Cobb and that just means some other WR will be this years big out of nowhere guy that will have everyone talking next FF season.

Another reason preseason power rankings are pointless.

Mmm, not really. I'd still rank the Packers right up there as the class of the NFC. Losing Nelson is not a complete disaster for Green Bay.

Didn't say it was. But it certainly knocks them down a couple of notches. Nelson and Rodgers were in sync as much as any QB/WR tandem in the league. Not to mention, any future injuries will be that much more devastating.

I agree but the other receivers will need to step up their game to lessen his loss.

The key to the Packers offense is Aaron Rodgers. If he stays healthy the Packers won't skip a beat.

Obviously Rodgers is the key, but losing JN is huge.

They are still a contender to win it all, but don't act like losing one of the best receivers in the league is not that big a deal.

I never said it wasn't a big deal but that team is talented enough to overcome his loss.

So is Davante Adams a high fantasy pick now?

my draft was going on at about the same time: Jordy had already been picked, maybe second round. I picked up Adams in round 12, but nobody knew about the injury yet.

I just picked him up on a flyer, and since Boykin left.

As for real life, hate the news. Always respected Jordy Nelson...I sat in the stands and watched him single-handed beat my alma mater (Texas) with at least one, and maybe two punt return TDs. Also had TD reception I think...just killed us. What a great football player.
