Ruth played in a period that is seen to be more hitters friendly... BUT his numbers were just so good that it is near impossible to equate it to a lesser offensive period like the one Aaron played in... THE ONLY way you can vote against Ruth is if you vote against his period...

Ruth wins, but only because his statistical numbers are the best that baseball has ever seen...
