No, you're right. Saban is the kind of coach that lets the other team get to within 3 points WITH THE BALL and three minutes left before he decides to stop playing nice and decides to start scoring again. no, you're absolutely right. he's just a swell fella that nick saban.

:: idiot ::

I mean, do you even listen to how stupid your bullshit sounds before you post it?

Have you ever watched an Alabama game?

Getting a big lead and just pounding the ball over and over is what Saban does. Almost to a fault. I don't think he ever intended to let Texas back within 3 points, but he is known to take his foot off the gas, and it was clear he stepped back on the gas after Texas scored.

Texas scored because we kept going 3 and out and when you leave your defense out like that, it happens.

Like it or not, Alabama scored 24 points in the 2nd quarter, 0 points in the 3rd quarter and 13 in the 4th.

Sorry for the shitty format, I'm too lazy to adjust it. Last 5-100 Years Team Rankings

have at it boys.

Meanwhile, Fla is just 2 games over 500 against OOC BCS opponents, as we know them today over the past 20 years. So Fla hast the # 1 distinction for play crap opponents. Is that correct?

Since 11 teams won a BCS title during the Era, those 11 teams are automatically ranked 1-11 IMO. After that I took different things into account.

I'd have Wisconsin over Virginia Tech, Stanford over TCU, Boise. Other than that I don't have a ton of argument.

Tennessee? Yeah they won the first championship but good heavens they haven't been relevant in years?

Really what junk up stat is that BCS opponents were established in 1998. Those opponents are from the six major conferences not the Akron Ohio Louisiana Lafayette or Fresno State of the world. You just got a love the casual college football fans...:laugh3:

The last 15 years has been the worst era of Nebraska football since the '40s and '50s (which was pretty horrendous). Being able to stick around in the top 20 for the era isn't the worst, I guess. :pout:

It changes every year. Therefore "as we know it today" can mean anything. Whatever it means, you have the numbers wrong.

That is why they are last out of the 11 teams that have won one. Winning one trumps being basically bad for half those years, again IMO.

Nebraska was actually a lot better than I thought they would have been. They finished ranked, in one of the two polls 11/16 years, which puts them in the top 20 in that category. And at the beginning of the BCS they finished in the top 20, four years and the top 10 3/4 years of the BCS.

Okay, I used the numbers from 1998 to present this time, not the 20 year period as used earlier. They are worse:L

Wisky v. VaTech is close:

VaTech Wisky
CCs 5 5
Bowls 7-9 7-9
BCS 1-5 2-3
Win% 5th 11th

Maybe edge to VaTech for their win %? Seems it could go either way.

Yeah we started out the BCS era fine under Solich. I often wonder how the last 10 years would have played out if that DBag Pederson hadn't canned Ol' Frankie.

Also, Mack and Cheesy Greg actually let Gilbert play in the 2nd half instead of just handing the game over to Bama like they did in the 2nd Quarter. You have to chance to be good, and Gilbert was in that game. [Same thing I said about Case this year: have to chance to be good].

A lesson that Mack and Cheesy Greg never really understood.

Nick Saban's halftime interview at the 1:05:55 mark by Tom Rinaldi. "We had a different plan completely" for Colt being the QB. So don't think Alabama plays the same schemes both offensively or defensively if McCoy is in there. To say well this was the score without him and the only thing different would be McCoy would play better is ridiculous!

Seems like you put a ton of stake into national titles and less into BCS appearances and BCS wins overall.

I dont know if I agree that just because a team won a National Championship it means they should be in the top part of the rankings. Tennessee has just not been that good. Does 1 good year trump the others being bad?

Alright, that would be why I couldn't rectify what you said and assumed you were inventing some strange stat. Your fault all the way around and then you had to be a jerk.

BTW, you linked to a stat that didn't back you up and said that's what you used. If you'd be clearer, it would save you from being a jerk in the future
