Since 11 teams won a BCS title during the Era, those 11 teams are automatically ranked 1-11 IMO. After that I took different things into account.

If Colt doesnt bust his arm, Texas jumps all the way to #1 on this list.

Possibly, they certainly would be ahead of Ohio State and OU.

Aside from the past two years, VT had a pretty good run since 98. Proud of my Hokies!

Stanford is a really, really interesting case. They've only finished ranked 6 times out of the 16 years of the BCS, but in 5 of those they made a BCS game winning 3 of them. From 2002-2008 they didn't make a bowl game and in some instances were not really close. You can make a case based on BCS games they could be ahead of TCU and Boise State, but putting them higher up than that I don't know if I could do based on their inconsistency.

Bullshit. Fact is OU made more NCG appearances. Based on that alone should move them up. Maybe they didn't win it all but once but getting there says a lot.

Let's see, in this scenario where Colt beats Bama:
Texas would be 4-0 in BCS games, 2 Nattys, and 9 wins each season in the 90s and 10+ wins every year of the 2000s, more wins than any other AQ team in the bcs era [i believe], with an EXCELLENT bowl record, and you're arguing that OU would be ahead of them in that scenario???

Ill put in a word for iowa. 4 top 10 finishes in bcs era ( more than all but 14 other team), 2 bcs bowl games. I think you can for sure make an argument for iowa over psu, clemson, tcu etc. Good list though ed. Like it

For the sake of the argument, I'm going to count it, that's why I have them where they are. Oregon, Va. Tech and Georgia are very similar. Va Tech's been to the most BCS games out of them, tied w/UGA for most times finishing in the top 25. Oregon has the most BCS wins out of the 3. It's very close IMO.

Thought about them rmillia. They are a worse Stanford IMO. A lot of feast or famine with them. I was surprised that they only finished ranked 5 times out of the 16 years. That definitely hurt their cause. PSU and Clemson didn't quite have as many great seasons, but they didn't have as many bad seasons either. Not to start an argument but that was the reasoning for leaving them off. A case can be made for them though.

OU during BCS

1998-2013
165-45 .785
1 BCS title
9 BCS bowls
4-5 BCS record

Most wins out of any BCS school
Best winning percentage out of BCS schools
Most BCS title games
Second most BCS games

I believe their body of work trumps LSU, Florida and Florida St.

Alabama no doubt #1 with 3 bcs titles.

My top 5

Alabama
Oklahoma
LSU
Florida St
Florida

Yes it is close. Damn the 2002 and 2004 season.

Damn Dixon's injury.

Oregon Ducks have been the first team left out of the BCS in 3 years, got left out of the 01 NATTY that resulted in fine tuning the BCS, had 2 missed FGs in 2 years that kept them out of 2 more NATTYs.

Damn man, this is bringing back both good and bad memories.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.... Story of Duck fans for a few of these BCS years. So close to playing in 4 BCS NCs. :gaah:
