Yup.

my exact concern

idk... i may disagree with the results here... but there really is only one player on that list i dont think belongs... so, even though i think the best of this group is Randy Johnson, as long as griffey does not win, i would be ok with it...

I do have pujols over all 3 offensive guys in this runoff... but Joe D and speaker are close enough...

Joe D with the early lead, and winning some precincts that we didn't expect. Maybe my polling is flawed

Of these 3 hitters, Speaker is the clear winner. I would love to hear others’ thoughts, though. Afterall, LEARNING is the point of this project.

i will do an analysis of the pitchers in a bit. They are all super close, even though they all bring different strengths to the table. EOD, though, I would be totally OK with any of these pitchers winning here. All over any of the hitters.

some players i put more into military than others... Joe D is definitely one who you have to say it affected his career...

missing 3 seasons, is tough by itself... but 3 seasons at 28, 29 and 30... DAMN....

If you want to play the list backwards, I think Cobb said Musial is the best hitter he ever saw and Musial said DiMaggio is the best hitter he ever saw

I have Johnson right behind Pujols who I have right behind Dimaggio

Johnson I think is right ahead of Maddux

Pedro is the top of the next tier
I don’t agree, but I respect you have thought about it and weighed it.

Cobb never saw Cobb hit. Musial never saw Cobb or Musial hit.

I think Speakers numbers (what he did) are better than DiMaggio’s (what he did), though. Looking at WWII or COVID goes into the calculus, sure, but only as a SUPER CLOSE tie breaker. IMHO, Speaker and DiMaggio are not THAT close.

for me, it is Joe D... quick reminder that i am biased against pre 1920s most, because it is very hard to identify what type of player he is...

But i really want Johnson to win this just so Trout and Pujols have another chance to beat these 3... or at least be in a runoff with them...

Yeah, Speaker is in Clemens tier which is above the other players imo.

When you said you disagreed with me earlier, which was the biggest disagreement?

sure, but what do you do when player A has longevity, and player B was robbed of longevity for valid non injury reasons??
