Hornsby, Speaker, Young seem like the 3 older players still in play
Musial best from his era imo
Clemens best from his era imo

Hornsby is still the focus of my stumping. Outside of Mantle, though, i have been emphatically OK with the results (I have agreed with all of them, but I felt they have all been close enough to support). The more Hornsby drops, though, the harder it is to “support” the results. Typically, whomever finishes 2nd in the voting gets the next spot. If that holds up, this will go to Musial, and he is well down the list for me (comparable to Mantle).

Yeah now that Johnson is in I'm going with Clemens in my 3rd spot. Will probably go 2 hitters one pitcher from now on. And Musial is my old guy. I could just as easily go with Hornsby or Young but we only get 3 votes

I like how you added the new HOFers to the nomination list (and Pujols)

Not sure I would vote for him top 10, so this is nitpicking, but I would take Joe Dimaggio over a lot of people on this list above. I feel he needs to be mentioned.

I've already mentioned I'm fairly high on him. Top 20ish.

He is regularly added in the rotating names, and hasn’t gotten any real love. At this point, he belongs as a rotating name, imho. If you feel strongly that he needs to on the list, feel free to throw him an “Other” vote.

Joe DiMaggio 16 year career: 13 years played, 13 all-star appearances, 3 MVP seasons, 2 runner up to MVP seasons, 1 3rd place MVP season, 3 years of military service right in the middle of his career.

We do have 13 players getting votes right now so maybe he wont end up top 20.

He seems worthy to add to the nomination list now

And I don’t really see any of the “regular” names on the list who are clearly below DiMaggio and should be booted in his stead.

He did. And that guarantees that DiMaggio will be listed in the 11 poll (assuming he doesn’t win this spot). And this is primarily why I don’t lose any sleep over who is specifically listed and who isn’t. I try to make sure the top 25 or so available players are listed (10 or so are determined by the previous poll, then I have about 15 or so who I consider the next group, than 5-10 rotating names. I think that is the best way to handle it.

I like Musial but I think he needs to be further down. This should go to Hornsby or Young and Speaker really should be getting more love

Pedro vs Clemens vs Young seems to be the matchup rising up for #2 pitcher

All players that have been discussed are ELITE players. I have had strong reservations about Aaron, Gehrig and Mantle, but I never thought of any of them as anything short of ELITE. I don’t think anyone has seriously argued against anyone yet because the person in question just wasn’t any good.

We may be outside the GOD-level players at this point, but we are still talking about all-time greats who are inner-circle HOFers.
