Looks like a play that can translate to LF too although best value is at SS. To me just seeing how Profar conducts himself, I see a guy who is to be trusted when the game is on the line. Hope his health continues to improve

Michael Young is a really bad comparison here, he was barely a competent SS

Desmond actually has really good range and graded out in the positive in Defensive Runs saved last year (And the year before) despite all the errors

The big issue has always been the errors though
I liked MY best at 2b. But Soriano started that ball rolling.

He didn't look comfortable at all when he played LF a couple years ago, probably best plan is to get him on the field where he's comfortable for a while and rebuild his value or allow him to give us a reason to do something with Andrus

I agree 100%. Put him in AAA at SS and see if he shows he's back to being the #1 prospect he once was, and can stay upright/healthy and adjust from there.

But for me, his days of being "experimented with" (i.e. playing LF) are over.

Not to mention the throwing angles are different for IFers and OFers, that could be significant for a guy that just missed 2 years bc of shoulder issues

Can't dispute a thing here.

Ya know, and I know you do, they didn't even want him playing 2nd base due to the arm angles, much less LF.

Besides all this for him personally, what's the value of a prospect - all he is again - of a player you think will be an above avg fielder, at a premium position (SS), who projects to be a .280 type hitter with some pop, vs all of that for a LF. It's not even close.

If we eventually put Profar in LF I think he will be more productive than most any left fielder that we have had in several years not named Hamilton.
