Heard this morning, Darvish looks 10-15 lbs heavier than last year. But sounded like he looked terrific, just larger.

I ran into him in the tunnel last year before game 162 and he definitely looked bigger, like he had bulked up. Im betting that 10-15 lbs is likely all muscle. He's a big guy, w some seriously strong legs. His calfs look like anvils

You've confirmed what I was suspecting. He's always looked like he has taken terrific care of himself.

As I have said all along....
Make that we. That was discussed several times with Scottie and someone else as I recall.

The captain will never let his ship sink if it can deliver the goods.

It was Bennie who insisted the owners would not be opening their pocket books whether the right move presented itself or not, which they've done repeatedly.

Maybe this summer if we have to trade for a player with a significant contract we won't have to pay the other team in extra prospects just to take back a bad contract in order to make the money work. Hopefully those days are over.

I insisted that I believed what JD said about the budget and I still do. I will take Davis at his word as well. I just didn't ignore what was said because I didn't want to believe it.

Prospect vs prospect perhaps. Thompson for the contract?

You've always ignored evidence that didn't support your thoughts on the budget, and been proven wrong multiple times.

Every season when I first hear Nadel's voice, the first thing I think of is Mark Holtz.

Boy those two were terrific together!

That is a joke Romeo. Go ahead and think that if it helps you though.

All I did the past 2 offseasons was say I thought they would do what JD said they would and that is exactly what they did. JD was never proven wrong. He made a believer out of me in the offseason that followed the 2013 season and I simply believed him afterwards. There was never any smoke screen used by JD. He was open and upfront about the budget.

You cannot be proven wrong because you set up your whole argument with a built in excuse. When they didn't increase the budget substantially each of the last 2 offseasons you simply invoked your fail safe excuse that they didn't need to spend on anyone. It is easy to say they will spend when they have to and then say they simply didn't have to.

Now Davis has indicated that they will increase the budget if they need to. That is good news to me. It is also a change from what I have heard for 2 or 3 years. I never said it would never change because JD never said that. In fact I went into this past offseason thinking it might have changed and hoped they would go after one of the higher priced hitters who was available. Then JD informed those who would listen that it hadn't changed and they refrained from pursuing any of the higher priced free agents just like last year.
