Yeah, good enough to race in Nascar, but stayed in ARCA for the easy championships.

But if they move up to FBS and can't get into a P5 league...It would be the same
as riding a mule at a NASCAR race.

They are fine were they are at. At least at that level half the teams aren't eliminated
before the first kickoff

That's impressive. Damn near impossible though.

For most programs it falls apart eventually, but they survived the coaching change and somehow Chris Klieman has not been noticed for the work he's done maintaining it since Bohl left

It's more than surviving one coaching change.

Darrel Mudra turned that place around in 1963 and they've never looked back. Klieman is their
10th HC in the last 54 years.

From 1894-1962 20 coaches gave them a .474 winning pct. (208-234-30)

Mudra went 24-6 in his 3 seasons winning the Div II NC in 1965.

Since 1963 they are 502-137-4 .784 winning pct and 14 NC, with 10 different Head Coaches.

These folks won 8 NC's at the Div II level and now 6 in 1-AA.

They have a proven system and it damn well works. Coaches and players come and go
but the system remains and their system works.

They are a machine and very enjoyable to watch. They use every square inch of that
field. Defensively they are big and strong upfront, and lately they've had some excellent
corners.

They are 9-3 vs FBS opponents over the last 10 or so years...6-2 vs Power 5 teams.

They currently have 3 P5 teams schedule for the future. Colorado, Oregon and Arizona
their next game against them is in 2020.

They play in front of a packed house every week. It's considered the second loudest
stadium in the country and their fans travel well. Over half of that stadium in Frisco, Tx
was wearing Green and Yellow Saturday.

It's a great program.

Time to bump this, North Dakota State was relatively unheard of at the creation of this thread and now they've won so many natty's I'm too lazy to count them
