My wife is from Mahnomen MN so I've been through there a few times. It seems like a pretty nice town-winters followed by spring floods have to suck though.

We had a rough run for a few years there. The past couple winters have not been quite as bad and minimal flooding in the spring. Diversions are being constructed as we speak to alleviate the flooding when it does come back.

Yeah the past two winters have been alright. I started in Brookings in '02 so my knowledge of winter up here isn't like if I grew up here but it seemed like you guys had a flooding crisis every year.

On a side note I just realized that I have spent 1/3 of my life between South Dakota and Minnesota. Man that's a long time when I just figured it would be a couple of years.

I've lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area my whole life other than a three year detour in my last few years of high school when my parents moved to Morris, MN. I got out of that hell hole as fast as I could once I graduated. lol

I wouldn't mind them joining the Mountain West, we'd get a fantastic program in North Dakota State and a team that's at least better than Kansas in South Dakota State
