An interesting reference given Mahomes is the first Chiefs 1st round QB since 1983- they took Heisman Todd Blackledge over Dan Marino that draft.

None of Tech's previous ones were NFL talent IMHO. KK, Harrell, Cumbie, etc weren't close. I don't think former Tech QBs Webb or Mayfield will either. The track record for air raid QBs in the NFL ain't good...but Leach really doesn't give a shit. He always wanted to try to win college games.

There will be several franchise caliber QB's coming out next year that will run circles around this QB class, or at least have a much higher chance on paper as viewed at this time. It's just not a great class.

Certainly looks that way on paper. But I don't expect the Chiefs to be anywhere remotely close to being near guys like Darold, Rosen, and the like. The "next year's QB's are better cliche" is something I've heard every year to justify not taking a QB, so I can't say I am very responsive to this line of reasoning as a biased Chiefs fan.
