Damn that sucks. Ever had the issue before?

Make sure your downspouts are properly diverting water away from your foundation. Extend them if neccessary. You can remove the extensions temporarily to mow.

If you're at the bottom of a hill receiving runoff you'll probably need to trench around the foundation, put a sealant on tne exterior walls, run drainage pipe (in gravel) and install a sump pump.

and get a generator for the sump pump

kidding.....but really, when i lived in PA, we had a Hurricane come through which knocked out our power for a day. Sump pump wouldn't work and the basement flooded.

Actually truth on the generator. It can be used for the fridge etc.. As well. I had a generator installed in the late 90's and have needed it twice to keep appliances running, the well pump running,the heater blower, lights etc..for a few days. With my woodburner's blower tied into my central ductwork, I can go a long time completely isolated from the power company, natural gas company and water company. (as long as diesel is available).
