Good Lord. What is wrong with this guy??? They are forcing his teammates to wear a Jeter Patch!

This is not a joke.

So does anyone have Jeter on their Mount Rushmore of greatest Yankees of all time?

Well, there is overrated, and there is OVERRATED...

I don't think they are that stupid... Espcially in NY when they have Ruth, Mantle, Gehrig & DiMaggio...

Could he bump Berra, Reggie, Mo - ore even ARod for #5? Probably not.

I'd put him in the top ten, just for his longevity... Especially in the PED era. Most juicers break down, but he has stayed relatively healthy...

No his is not rushmore worthy. Sure he has ranked in all-time numbers in certain stats. Longevity will give afford you that.

Imagine what some greats of the game would have for numbers had they played 20 years? He is breaking stat records or climbing charts that other guys did in 12-15 years or less.

I was a huge Jeter fan for a very long time. Always loved the Ripken and Puckett types of the game. Him hurting his team as the captain really changed my stance on him.

I agree. And the 4 you mentioned are the 4 I would pick as well.

I pick ARod, Kevin Brown, Tony Clark, and Javier Vasquez.

:pound:

Seriously, I strongly agree with the 4 referenced.
Reggie was only with the Yanks for 5 seasons...even with 4 of the 5 being very good to outstanding and the postseason heroics, he'd have to be way behind Mo and Berra for me. Maris is an odd one to rank...also have standouts like Dickey and Ford to think about.
Jetes could be #5 for me...maybe.

Depends...he is only in the top 5 if you ignore players from about 1920 - 1999

Honest question: has any other team had a less-productive 2-hole hitter this season?

Now batting .250/.298/.298 on the season. Jose Abreu's SLG% is higher than Jeter's OPS.

Jeter's batted .215/.258/.262 in the 2nd half.

Do you have some names to throw out there besides the ones that have already been mentioned?
Bob Meusel?
Babe Dahlgren?
Frankie Crosetti?

I'd probably have to go with Berra over Jetes for #5, but it's not an easy choice. Jetes would give the top 5 a nice spread over time...Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, and Mantle all overlapped nicely...then there would be a BIG gap to Jetes.

Derek spots young girl on street...
"What are your hopes? What are your dreams?"
Her father...
"She's fifteen, you jackass!"
Jeter flashes $1500...
"Honey, be home by 11, you have school tomorrow."
