The NCAA recognizes Auburn as National Champions in 2010, 1993, 1983, 1957 and 1913.

I particularly like the 1993 championship that the NCAA recognizes considering Auburn was on probation from the NCAA and ineligible that year. Maybe the best fake title ever claimed .

I saw a tweet on this earlier so what's the scoop did Auburn request this or was it a random announcement? I agree with you on 1993 BTW. 1983 and IMO 2004 should be claimed as for 1913 I have no clue on that one.

1913: if you don't have a player alive to accept a ring, you probably should not claim it
1983: weak, it's 31 years later. Miami was voted the champ.
2004: I don't see it. I am sure there are some USC fans that are willing to debate that
1993: just ridiculous, even Bama wouldn't claim that one

Little brother syndrome. They probably believe Ohio State won NC's in 1961 and 1970 too. In fact, Aubie and OSU are the only 2 programs that claim a NC post 1950 that isn't an AP, UPI or BCS title. Both are a laughingstock.
