Hell, last year they said we didn't have a defense and we played Georgia to within 6 points with 102 points scored, and they were suppose to be one of the best defenses.

My two cents. It looks like there is more effort and pride post Mike. They still seem a little lost though.

That said, Ruffin inherited a defensive system that wasn't his system and has had to work with it because the players do not know another system (mid season is not the time to change your entire system). He does have a month before Bama but I do not expect too much improvement.

That said, whoever the new DC winds up being, they will be able to start mostly from scratch and hopefully we will see some improvement. We will need some improvement too, as I expect some drop off offensively next year.

IMO, the style of play in that conference tends to give a false impression of the defenses. They spread you out using space which tends to make the best of defenses look bad when you have a good QB.. We saw it recently with Michigan and Clemson. I'm reluctant to say OK's defense is very bad.
