Gotta be an SEC and lil bro thing. Our lil bro claimed a couple of phantom NC's from 90 years ago the night before they officially joined the SEC.

In our case Alabama started the trend and the problem is they spend so much time selling this garbage to recruits and the fan base others are jumping on bd. This just shows the NCAA and the college football national championship has always been a joke.

It should be an embarrassment that college football can't come to a convulsive process to name a champion. You would think this was professional wrestling.

The only positive I see is Ole Miss can't go around saying they have more which was ridiculous.

1983: weak, it's 31 years later. Miami was voted the champ.
2004: I don't see it. I am sure there are some USC fans that are willing to debate that

I don't think anyone outside of Auburn believes that the results for Auburn would have been much different than for Oklahoma. Especially since USC had just beaten them, 2 years in a row with teams that weren't as good as the 2004 USC team.

I heard Auburn was trying to claim 1958 as well, not sure why they quit their push for it. The state of Alabama's favorite hobby seems to be trying to re-write the history books though.

They were banned from post season play in 57 and 58.

Thanks for clearing that up. I know LSU 'won' the title in '58, but to an extent all championships before the BCS (and arguably during) can be less than legitimate.
