It was a no-brainer.
1. He and his family love it there.
2. He's won titles now
3. He has a chance to be the key player in titles for two different teams
4. The Heat weren't getting better and clearly couldn't compete with the top teams of the west
5. The Cavs are a young team with a lot of athleticism.

Not reading through all the comments, but it appears as though the consensus is that he is selfish, inconsiderate, yada yada yada, et al....

I don't buy it. He's under the microscope and not one of us can fathom what that's like. We live in a 24/7 media driven world, where breaking news is not brought to us by credentialed reporters, but by tweeters and bloggers. He deserves all the time in the world to make up his mind.
Twins, we agree on something, woohoo!

Good stuff

I’m not promising a championship. I know how hard that is to deliver. We’re not ready right now. No way. Of course, I want to win next year, but I’m realistic. It will be a long process, much longer than it was in 2010. My patience will get tested. I know that. I’m going into a situation with a young team and a new coach.

I went to Miami because of D-Wade and CB. We made sacrifices to keep UD. I loved becoming a big bro to Rio. I believed we could do something magical if we came together. And that’s exactly what we did! The hardest thing to leave is what I built with those guys. I’ve talked to some of them and will talk to others. Nothing will ever change what we accomplished. We are brothers for life. I also want to thank Micky Arison and Pat Riley for giving me an amazing four years.

To make the move I needed the support of my wife and my mom, who can be very tough. The letter from Dan Gilbert, the booing of the Cleveland fans, the jerseys being burned -- seeing all that was hard for them. My emotions were more mixed. It was easy to say, “OK, I don’t want to deal with these people ever again.” But then you think about the other side. What if I were a kid who looked up to an athlete, and that athlete made me want to do better in my own life, and then he left? How would I react? I’ve met with Dan, face-to-face, man-to-man. We’ve talked it out. Everybody makes mistakes. I’ve made mistakes as well. Who am I to hold a grudge?

Don't misconstrue that statement as me being a "fan." I'm not. I still think he's a POS for having left Cleveland 4 years ago the way he did. His legacy will forever be tarnished when it comes to the pantheon of GOATs.

So what do the Heat fans do now?

Try to sell their LeBron James Miami Heat jersey's so they can buy a LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers jersey? But the 20 real fans must be beside themselves right now.

The Bucks won't be competing any time soon, but this decision will come down to how well the Cavs are able to manage their assets to fill out a roster that can win today.

I definitely disagree with you, especially with the positive changes the Bucks have made already this off-season. they've gotten new owners, a new coach and with Parker coming in, they're looking good. they might not be in competition this season, but I'm willing to bet within 2-3 years, they'll be competing again. not top in the East, but definitely 4-6 seed.

Lebron hates to be hated. It was his biggest reason for going back.

Lol @ the Heat for making 4 straight NBA finals and winning 3 titles in a decade.

Its gonna sting for the true loyal Heat fans... but I think they'll look back at this run with fondness and say it was easily worth it.

Honestly, the future for the Heat is still plenty bright. Dimmed for the immediate future, but plenty bright.
