I went to high school with the kid who pitched game 1 against CoC (he was a freshman when I was a senior) and I've known him and his family for a while (they always come to my parents' store)... he'll also pitch game 1 in the CWS... I sure hope he keeps doing well

I like the chances of my Longhorns to make the Finals, much easier bracket. The TCU, Virginia bracket is a killer. I'll root for TCU, best pitching staff in the country, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Virginia win it all.

A good defense can win in small-ball, tech.

I just know that there are a lot of distractions here. The players and coaches aren't used to the being spoiled like they will be. First timers get the most attention lavished on them. Whether they can keep that stuff from getting in their heads is the question?

There hasn't been a Cinderella win the CWS since 1956. There's a first time for everything.

Maybe by the 3-13 y/o kids. They like the odd logo's like anteaters and horny toads.

The majority of older folks will adopt Texas Tech. They are the Cinderella. It's just how it always is.

Those younger kids might even adopt Tech if they put the Red Raider on their memorabilia stuff.

I respectfully dissagree. That may not have been Fresno State's first time making it to Omaha, but that doesn't mean they were not a cinderalla team. A 4 seed in the Long Beach State regional and they won it all, one of the greatest runs by any college team in any sport. They claimed the National Championship with a record of 47-31 and is still currently the lowest seeded team in ANY sport to win a national title.
