Totally, everyone knows this.
Note that I did not include Baylor in my list - Not sure why they considered him so good, but he had all star appears almost every year, an mvp, and all time defensive titles to hang his hat on

And as you just proved, he was better than LeBron

Not without championships - and I'm still having a hard time overlooking that LeBron is a heart beat from a triple double every night - That's impressive - If he wins even one more championship, I think the LeBron supporters win their argument easily to be honest. Baylor though was 27 13 and 4, Lebron is 27 8 and 9 - I think LeBron's are a little tighter

What is their argument? That he's top 5? Gotta win one more for that?

I think they are okay - I don't particularily like career averages, but they work for now and gives us an idea.
Seems like to me what Baylor did for the Lakers most was get us Magic Johnson in a trade with Utah - is there any doubt as to why Utah fans hates the Lakers - We went on to win a title with Magic in his rookie year and Baylor retired with bad knees

How many NBA Championships did Russell win ?

From what I see on the internet - the titles has to be a big factor - look at Tim Duncan's, Bill Walton and Larry Bird's stats - not that impressive until you count rings - suddenly they are contenders in the top five - Tim Duncan is anyway - not because of his stats, but ways to win championship titles, leadership and etc, but LeBron fans are children - they haven't lived long enough to see the originals

Jesus H I have seen all the greats since Magic in their primes and LeBron is top 5.

Okay, I think Russell led the Celtics to the Finals and on 8 straight titles from 1959 to 1966 - that's the stat that puts him into the all time greatest

Have to tell you - Magic wasn't even close to being the first - some of the greatest were before I was born - and I am 58

For some, but any looking into the details and you realize that the teams the Celtics dominated were total crap compared to today's teams. Russell was a giant (for the time) black guy playing with and against mostly white slow mopes especially early in his career. Also, Russell's stats are very meh. He was a defensive stud and an alltime great. Top 5 no.

Yeah, I thought about that - but even then other teams made moves and gave the Celtics a run - Lakers played them in six of them - so 11 in in 13 or 14 years still is impressive by any standard and has yet to be caught

By this Logic, however then Bill Russell was better then LeBron since he went to the finals 12 times, won 5 mpv finals and 8 championships.

Bill Russell won 11 NBA Championships.

He never won a Finals MVP. (because it wasn't even an award then -- later, it was named for him)

I do agree though that once his career is finished, that LeBron will end up in the top five category - Especially if he comes to the Lakers and wins another championship or two:D

If he leads a third team to a championship, something no one has ever done, he is top 2.
