Next time I see that movie, I'll have to pay particular attention to that scene.

Good talking to you.

Til next time, keep it in the fairway. (As I recall, what passes for "the woods" in AZ can be pretty unpleasant...I never wanted a ball back badly enough to go in after it, out there).

:yo:

Ha ha! Yah, I let the snakes have 'em. You never know what you are going to find off the beaten path in Arizona. Good talking to you too.

Wow. I remember Stricker's shank in the final round of last years US Open. That started the wheels falling off for him and took him right out of contention.

I fought the shanks for about a month years ago. It is a seriously aggravating problem. Every time you line up, there's trouble right in front of you.

You actually are pleased when you pull it left!

Hitting a shank and fighting one are two totally different things...been there, done that on both counts...not fun...I actually went and got a lesson. You just don't feel comfortable over ANY iron shot.

It hits me once every so often on the practice tee. The first shank is followed by about six more in succession. I can't stop doing it. What I finally decided to do is when it happens I just stop hitting balls.

Probably happens to me three or four times a yearbut it has never ever followed me to the course nor have I ever had an episode of hitting several shanks in a row on the course like I do on the range so when it happens on the range I don't even worry about it, I just walk off the range.

Once I learned what I was doing to cause it...I haven't had any problems on the course, but have hit a few on the range...doesn't bother me anymore.

So my arm is actually feeling pretty decent so I'm hopeful that I'll have a solid return to form this year. We're still in a deep freeze here in Southern NE but I've been able to hit some wedges off a mat.

In an attempt to relieve some pressure off of my left shoulder, I decided to try returning to an interlocking grip instead of the Vardon I've used for many years. I've been pleasantly surprised about how squarely I'm contacting the ball and sending shots straight as an arrow. Previously, I've pulled and pushed wedges a bunch. Can't wait to actually get onto some grass and try this new swing out.

I've already putted thousands and thousands of carpet putts. After missing all of last year for the first time in 29 years, I'm beyond stoked!

Good luck! I have never been able to get comfortable with an interlocking grip. Over thedecades my grip has evolved from a baseball grip with both thumbs wrapped around the shaft like a bat to a 10 finger grip with thumbs pointing down the shaft and right hand overlapping the left thumb to finally an overlapping grip.

I fight with this all the time. The 10 finger feels very comfortable but it gives my wrist all this room to roll around and get me in trouble. I drive great with 10 fingers but go interlock for irons.

I can't imagine what it would be like not to golf for an entire season. At this point, carding a 107 would probably feel pretty good.

Good luck to ya this season brother. Keep it in the short grass.

Thanks man, same to you.

I had a kid sub all year in my Tuesday night league. This year, I'll have to earn back my A position from my partner!

I started with an interlock grip and was slicing like mad...got a lesson and he said...with such large hand why don't you try the overlap...that was over 10 yrs ago...been overlap ever since...I can grip it lighter, easier to release the club for me.

Nope, never even heard about it.

The Urinal/Sentinel sponsors it every year and it has been held at the main exhibition building at the Fair Grounds. Good deals on green fees, new and used equipment, etc. Not a bad way to get even more amped for the upcoming season.
