Yep, and the courses are just too crowded. Greens fees aren't that unreasonable for public courses, but they're packed and the fairways are too worn down.

These days I'm a weekend golfer so the rates are more, but I can play a top shelf track for $50 if I don't mind going out after 12. Normally about $60 after 12, but these courses send out email blasts every week about Thurs...to fill up their afternoon tee times at below market price.
This Nicklaus track is one of the top shelf courses I treat myself to a few times a year...semi-private...great track. Conditions are outstanding.
Course Tour - Achasta Golf Club | Dahlonega, GA
A typical course for me cost about $35 to $40 or less on weekend to ride after 12...If I want to beat the heat and pay premium, $50.
DEN is probably even better and it's reasonable to walk a lot of their courses if you choose.
