A few ideas here...

1) Bob was with the other group that originally took over Terminus. He escaped while the Termites retook the camp, thus his being the only survivor. Maybe he left beforehand, when he saw what kind of people they were (think Daryl and the Claimers). He appears to know Gareth, though...

2) He was a Termite, planted within the Prison. This doesn't make a lot of sense, though. He hung out out the prison for a long time, and didn't seem to be much of a wrangler getting everyone to Terminus.

3) He has some other kind of connection to Terminus. Maybe he made some kind of pact with the Termites while they were captives. Not sure when that could have happened, though.

4) There is no connection to the Termites and he was crying about something else entirely.
IMO Bob was a part of the original group and left when they started eating humans to survive.

I want Michonne to get her sword back.

I re-watched the ending/Bob's Burgers scene again to see if I could spot Michonne's sword around the campfire gathering area, but I couldn't see it.

my 1st thought was he was bitten from the underwater zombie & planned on leaving the group before turning.
As far as Gareth knowing Bob. Well he was just captured there before Gareth lost his home. Gareth & company are hunting humans for food & was glad to catch one of the guys that helped destroy his home. Don't think Bob has anything to do with terminus.

Now the preacher & those marks on the tree might be in cahoots with terminus somehow. Couldn't figure out what is up with that guy.

Why didnt she just keep the wooden one she made in the box car?

Terminus, I dont know, the later scenes they showed the women getting taken from the box car apparently to get raped. Seems like that was still the plan when they just took the men in to the trough, so maybe the over takers are not that different than the plan was for the butchers. I think if Bob was there before, then Carol was too from the scene in the candle room. They knew eachother, she said Carol could have been one of them.

It seemed to me that the preacher simply locked the church lady and followers out of the church so he had enough food for himself. I felt that was why all the empty cans were around the altar.

I just figured that Bob was happy at the end with his booze fix and getting kisses and he was the first one who let down his guard which the show made a big deal about with the scene with Rick and his son. Gareth knows Bob because Bob gave a speech about a potential cure. There might be more to it than that considering the suspicious nature of Bob's entry to the group but there doesn't have to be.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. Gareth and the Terminites were planning to eat Bob when he was in the boxcar, so they already knew who he was. Gareth telling Bob he tasted better than he expected doesn't really mean that he knew him prior to Bob and the crew making it to Terminus.

So why was it ironic that it was Bob they caught?

Honestly, I missed it all together, I thought it was Morgan watching them from a distance and he was the one that got caught.

Gareth said something to the effect that it was cosmic irony that Bob was the one they caught. Plus, they knew his name. This leads me to believe that Bob was part of the group, likely before the crazy boxcar guy and his crew took over. He was able to get away and was eventually found by Daryl and Glenn (love that opening scene showing Bob roaming around).

You're probably right. I'm just more interested in Carol and Daryl's sidequest than both the Terminus Hunters and the mystery of the wussy Church man.

Bob really deserves a good payoff. They've gotten rid of too many characters in this show 'just because'

While I was watching MNF last night on my ipad, my girlfriend watched the talking dead ondemand....and when they showed next week's preview of Sasha suddenly finding that walker right in front of her in the rifle's nightscope, she screamed so loud and jumped 2 feet off the sofa that I freaked out.....but it was funny as hell....a good early halloween moment for us both.

I don't get how so many of those fuckers from terminus can lack the basic hunting, fishing, farming, foraging, scavenging skills or knowledge so badly that they need to resort to cannibalism to survive.
Seems logical to me although I generally think that we ate all of the Neanderthals out of existence.

While I (think I) know where they are going with Gabriel, I am interested to see what changes they make to him and his character moving forward.

I am excited to see the Hunters arc play out.

I can't wait to see the Beth/Daryl/Carol storyline. New baddy group and a potential love triangle (a little life in the middle of all this surviving).

While I like legit deaths as well, a few "uh, OK" deaths is not so horrible. It is more realistic, and adds to the drama of real deaths. Btw, which pointless deaths have we had? Otto? T-Dog? T-Dog died trying to save Carol, but he didn't really have a story attached.

I think that is part of why we are supposed to hate them. They went the evil route without really having to. It was just easier.

I realize that....my post was more rhetorical than as an inquiry. The premise is odd, especially considering it's in the south...but then again, perhaps they've all given up clinging to the "good book" so adamantly.

Just shows to go ya what happens to folks when they're faced with a dilemma, and how a failure to consciously improvise, innovate, adapt or adjust pragmatically becomes panic & hysteria which turns into illogical drastic extreme actions that ultimately become horrific consequences.

But then again...it is the zombie apocalypse we're talking about here, right?
Or are we......

Their story should continue to be fleshed out with flashbacks (I think). I think they just went insane when they were being held prisoner and their women were constantly being raped after they had tried to create a "sanctuary". They lost their faith in humanity.

If I recall correctly, they have this thing about not being weak like they were in the past. It's like they view themselves on the food chain where the strong devours the weak... literally.

The guy who fights Tyrese in the cabin is an example of this. He claims that Tyrese must kill or be killed and even threatens to kill a baby in order to get the upper hand. Tyrese screams "I won't, I won't" as he pummels the guy, refusing to believe that it's absolutely necessary for humans to kill each other.
