It ain't like were hitting on talent in the 1st round lately, granted one is in waiting, so why not use it to better the team????
Trades and FA haven't been stellar either.

Like I have been saying. He gives us that "Smack" Factor that we have been lacking since Bam Bam Kam retired

I love a hard hitting safety. Unfortunately, the NFL doesn't. Every year more and more rules come out about how/where you can hit. The days of the intimidating big safety are gone. Or teams risk penalties and suspensions.

Don't shoot the messenger here.

Tapey, TWO firsts, a third and that salary.

Come on man.

Had NE made this deal the interwebs would've crashed
Yea the salary is gonna suck, but I’d rather have Adams then whatever BS they were gonna take with those picks. Sometimes you gotta risk it for the biscuit

Answer the question.
So in 10 years not counting this year the Hawks have made 7 first round selections.

2010 Okung and Thomas
2011 Carpenter
2012 Irvin
Three years in a row no pick
2016 Ifedi
2018 Penny
2019 Collier

All starters minus Collier. The book is still out on him.

Not one of them cost anything close to what Adams is and will cost Seattle if they retain him.

Sometimes the juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Honestly how many more wins does Adams bring Seattle over McD?

I’m not sure but if it’s anything more than 0 then the Seahawks would have won the west last year

Seattle should rolled the Ravens into this trade and picked up RGIII too.

The thing is, it is Pete Carroll’s defense and Safeties are more important than most defenses. With Earl and Kam in the back, it made guys like Clemons, Avril, Bennett. Irvin etc. the pass rusher worth a nickel that has done anything is Frank Clark. It’s a gamble but I think the Seahawks are looking at it as Adams> Clowney and has been sad in this thread. Seattle should petition the NFL to not have a 1st round draft pick until Schneider and Carroll are gone.
They also had a lock down corner and an offense that could run time off the clock during that time.

I thought people said Sherman wasn’t a lockdown corner because he didn’t cover the number 1 receiver the entire game?

One of the biggest overpays in the NFL in the last 10 years.

You can make a case that Adams or any safety in this league isnt worth the contract Adams is asking for. Throw in 2 1st rounder picks, a 3rd rounder and a legit replacement player into the mix and this is one of the most lopsided trades in a long while.

Not sure what Seattle was even thinking here. Next offseason they are going to have to hand out the largest safety contract ever and also one of the largest CB contracts in the league to keep Griffin.

And they did this with a defensive line that anyone paying attention knows is going to be one of the worst in the league. Now they don't have a big money slot to add a high profile pass rusher....and they don't have a 1st rounder for two fricking years.

Unless Clowney comes crawling back on a super cheap contract, this doesn't make a ton of sense.

He locked down his 3rd of the field. Most QBs didn't want to attack his side.

This argument that the Seahawks fans make about how their team can’t draft first rounders so they might as well trade all the picks is hilarious.

Should Cleveland trade its next 20 first rounders for a couple of corners and linebackers?

Yeah, while under Pete historically we've done better with late round picks, the thing is, trading two firsts takes away our leverage to trade down and get more picks, and that's what Seattle has done year after year, now we lost that leverage the next couple years... That being said, Seattle just upgrade there defense, so they're better right now with him out there, BUT, we now must resign him long term, we have no choice, it has to happen... If I was being honest I don't like that we gave up so much, even though he's a proven pro bowl level guy that's only 24 years old...

Seahawks obviously going all in with RW turning 32 this year, can't blame them. The guy in my avi was 31 when he was about to win his second ring. Then some psycho made a thread and shot that all to hell. Oh well.
