I agree, C is a major need. But some of the podcasts I've been listening to are saying that Iginla is likely a wing in the NHL. Catton might be too. Helenius they seem a little more confident in him sticking at center because of his smarts, but his size isn't ideal for center either. And then Lindstrom will likely be gone. Though if his injury question marks force a slide, maybe he's there. Sounds like he could be a pretty exciting prospect if he can get over his injury.

Little bit I've read about the 2025 draft though is that it's full of centers. 10 of Pronman's top 21 for next year are centers.
Im just saying we cant wait until the 2025 draft because we will have the 32nd pick. :D

I think Yakemchuk should definitely be on our radar. We need a more physical presence on defense, especially if Risto only plays his usual half a season.

I agree the disappearance of our team at the end needed to be addressed .

All these guys do is lie to the fans. It's because there is nothing good to say.

Rachel Doerrie - ESPN - April 2nd: "One of the oldest players in the draft class, Yakemchuk has a highlight reel that's a mile long featuring goals and big hits, but it comes with a lot of risk. Yakemchuk is not only one of the highest-scoring defensemen in the draft, but he's also one of the most penalized."

Seems like a fun guy to watch.
Winning is fun to watch.

I like Catton a lot too. I'm hoping that at least one of him or Yakemchuk is there. They're my two favorites that seem to slip out of the top 10 in some mock drafts. Really just means I need to root for guys like Iginla, Sennecke, and Helenius to go in the top 10.

We were supposed to make the playoffs with 81% chance up until the last two weeks what happened? should've been asked and answered.
You guys are all saying the same shit as them in this thread. Winning isn't important. Fun hockey isn't important. Only fixing the cap situation is important.

Nobody is saying anything like that at all. However, if you don't fix what's broken you can't move beyond it. Fixing our cap situation involves getting rid of dead contracts to invest that money into good contracts. Unfortunately there's still a couple of holes left to dig out and refill.

How is me wanting to have the coaches and management answer the question about what happened in the last two weeks in which we got ourselves knocked out of the playoffs translating into winning isnt importatnt to me?

Either you posted #313 really high and drunk or reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

Either case its all good.

I have no idea where he thought that winning wasn't important in our eyes do you?

PLAYER
NET RATING
CAP HIT
YEARS LEFT
Nick Seeler+7$775K0 ($2.7M x 4 year extension kicking in)
Owen Tippett+7$1.5M0 ($6.5M x 8 extension kicking in)
Morgan Frost+6$2.1M1
Travis Konecny+12$5.5M1
Cam York+1$1.6M1
Best contract in 2023-24: Nick Seeler

The Flyers had several players who provided excellent bang for buck.

Nick Seeler was a defensive rock in the bottom four at the league minimum cap hit. He and Sean Walker controlled 56.7 percent of expected goals and outscored opponents by six goals at five-on-five prior to Walker’s trade, which is extremely impressive.

Owen Tippett had 28 goals for $1.5 million. Morgan Frost scored 41 points in 71 games while driving vastly better defensive numbers compared to 2022-23.

Travis Konecny led the club in scoring by a 15-point margin — he’s setting himself up for a significant raise at the end of next season.

Cam York averaged 22:37 per game and scored 10 goals and 30 points for $1.5 million.

Because you are answering the question in your other posts. 2-7-2, 11-0, who gives a shit? Just have to get rid of the expensive players after the 11 games are done. And then do it again next year.

Did you want them to lie to you instead of answer it truthfully? Because we already know the answer through their actions.

Aside from Seeler who makes barely more than league minimum, it's young guys that haven't had a contract signed outside of the RFA years. That's the key to managing the cap for a contender. ELC's and guys on RFA-signed contracts. Once they get to UFA-signed contracts the pendulum swings the other way and while they still might provide a lot of value for the team, you have to pay for it. And there's only so much money to go around.
