As much as I would love to pick 1st or 2nd overall, even if we just lose this game in regulation and end up picking 4th overall, we can take Frondell or Hagens at that spot and then possibly trade up to get someone else we may covet in the top 20. We are guaranteed that a top center is still on the board at 4. Then, we have a lot of other picks to potentially move around and get who we want.

The odds do not guarantee us a pick at #4.

Only a 15.4% chance to pick at #4 if we wind up with the 4th worst record.

Roughly a 1/3 chance of picking 1 (9.5%), 2 (9.5%), or 4.
Which means 2/3 chance of picking 5 (44.6%) or 6 (20.8%).

I know this, but we will have a 34.7% chance of picking 4th or better and nearly 80% chance of picking 5th or better. Odds are, either Misa, Frondell, Hagens or Desnoyers will be there still when our pick comes up.

I do think we want 4th or better though and I certainly hope it falls that way.

Sean Couturier about half an inch of the puck from scoring a goal that would've tied this thing at 4 and potentially ruined our shot at the 4th best draft lottery odds...Lol Michkov is extremely close to his first hat trick too, but I don't think any of us want to see that either. No joke. It's not a lost season because we have the firepower in the upcoming draft and Michkov is well on his way to being a star. That and there are some other prospects to be excited about that may make the team next season. Guys like Bonk, Luchanko, Bump and Barkey are on this list.

Props to Seeler, Couturier, Hathaway, Cates and Risto for being the only players on the entire team with a positive +/-. That's actually quite an accomplishment on a squad that had a -48 goal differential on the season.

Also, Hathaway finishes 9th in the Nhl in hits (257) via only 67 games and Seeler 3rd in the Nhl with 200 blocks, which actually made him a decent option in ESPN fantasy leagues.

I think if these guys hadn't missed around 50 games this season, we wouldn't be sitting here with the 4th best draft lottery odds.
