Forgot to actually say it. Rip Don James the Dawg father I wasn't alive to see one of the greatest coaches to ever coach, I have done my research on him the records the championships the pounding of Oregon. Still I think I needed to be there during the Don James era to really understand why he's one of the greatest college football coaches of all time. RIP the Dawg Father he truly helped build a reputation and helped put the PAC on the map and helped make it one of the great football conferences and one of the great conferences of all time, truly a god father of the PAC and from what I have seen a great man and coach. Go out and win UW for Coach James. :suds:

James didn't put the PAC on the map, USC had been doing that just fine for a very long time. What James did was put UW on the national stage and he did things his way. That 'way' was passed on to a great number of people who either coached under him or played for him including a few coaches in the SEC such as Pinkle and Saban.

Coach James was a field general. He commanded an effort unmatched by others of his era. He didn't often jump on players themselves, he would jump their position coach and tell them to fix it or else. When he walked into the room players, media, or anyone else in that room stopped what they were doing and went dead silent.

He had a far reaching impact on college football, not just UW.

You can read my brief look at how he started at UW and built a legacy of doing things his way right out of the gate by putting a no name black JC transfer QB in as his starter at a time when most major programs just didn't use black QB's unless they were run/option only. He was proven right to do so and never again did anyone here question a single player decision he made.

As an aside, he was feared and respected as a coach, but loved and revered as a man off the field. Former Oregon HC Brooks ended up being a frequent golf playing partner of his after retirement. He was ruthless on the field, but would ask even his biggest rivals at the time how their kids and family were after the games. You won't find a person alive who knew him at that time or since that doesn't respect him as both a coach and a man.

They just don't make them like that anymore.

The spread surprises me on the Utah @ USC with all of SC's injurries.

We are getting screwed pretty sure Asu, Oregon State, and Washington could beat South Carolina so overrated.

The end of the Wisconsin game is hurting us just as much as it's hurt them. The media only covered the last 20 seconds of that game and it's hurt our national perception. Nobody cares that we destroyed them in every meaningful statistical category but rushing yards or that over the course of the game we got screwed out of more points the refs more than they did. We have a better resume than all of the 2 loss teams other than LSU and all of the 1 loss B1G teams.

It doesn't help that nobody is talking about our dominate defensive performance on Saturday or the fact that our offense put up 50+ on one of the best defenses in the Pac with our best player hurt for most of the game. Instead all the coverage from that game is about how Washington was overrated. Nobody cares that a defense that has struggled against the run all season is finally healthy and held a team with the nation's leading rusher to -5 rushing yards.

Asu is having a great day recruiting. Jalene Harvy just de commited from Cal and is highly considering Asu. Calhoun also decommited from USC and is highly considering ASU. It's crazy what one win can do.

That Notre Dame loss is what is killing you all.

Favored to win and didnt put a good game together.

Win out from here. Make it to the PAC title game and you will find your team in top 10

It's better not to be ranked to be honest though. Going at Washington State againts a coach in Mike Leach that can out scheme you and if we were ranked the crowd would be fired up. Better to win than get in the rankings. I would rather be ranked 26 than 24 going to an away game.

There were tons of high caliber recruits at that game and they all tweeted really good things about the campus and the atmosphere. I'm really excited about the high caliber offensive line recruits that are showing interest. Of course they'll all jump ship if we don't figure out how to win on the road the next two games.

Is the Utah QB in or out? That Beaver game is very intriguing. I think they have a really good chance at beating the trees. The Bark Rats fucked us by losing to EWU

That's true. Their starting QB now came off the bench and threw for almost 500 yards against us in 2011 :L

ASU: 314 rushing yards

Washington: -5

What was that about our running game being mediocre and our run defense being terrible? We held the nation's leading rusher to 22 yards. Our defense is finally healthy and we got our swagger back. Once Marcus Ball is healthy enough to make his debut it'll be where we thought it would be in the preseason.

I think Jahii might be onto something, we only play well when we don't wear black.
Face it, you only play well when you're at home.
