I can't this weekend. For some damned reason I'm driving almost all the way to fucking Portland this weekend. I won't even get to see my own game, more or less the others.

I'd rather have this one than wear a fucking duck logo. Sure could have been a whole lot worse. Thank god mamba doesn't know how to make his own. I'm sure he could have been a lot more creative.

WASHINGTON @ ASU...

Run Sankey all day. Nothing kills pressure like draws and screen plays. The latter of which UWub needs to get better at. ASJ does need to get open more, involve him in a "block, then release" pass play to help slow down any pressure ASU wants to throw @ em. Why not cut Price loose on some delayed run plays also.

Either way, should be a good ballgame for both teams and a close one too.

Price spent the better part of a season and a half on bad knees. That and his overall decision making in the read zone game have probably left them not putting in designed runs for him. He does have speed and can shake tackles, but his strength is passing from the pocket or on the run.

As for ASJ we all want to see him get more involved, but he has been being used a lot more in full time blocking and from what Sark says other teams have been game planning for ASJ and KW and that is part of why both are down in receptions. The good news is last year those two were all they had and this year Ross, Smith, and Mickens have done a great job of taking the plays that have come their way.

Still, Price needs to look for those two more even if they are in bracket coverage often. ASJ can leap above most LB's and KW is filthy on getting to the ball. He does need to find ways of reaching them when they are open and they have been open at times. For whatever reason keith either isn't seeing them or isn't keeping them in his check down. I mean normally your TE is your second read in most offenses that have a quality TE. Doesn't matter if your progression is top down or the other way your TE release is normally a go to play and it just hasn't been this year so far.

ASJ could potentially have a big day if we blitz as much as we did vs ND. When we bring the house look for him to be matched up with Chris Young who plays a hybrid LB/DB role in our defense. If the pressure gets in fast Young has enough speed to stick with him but he's only 6' so he'd have a lot of trouble defending a jump ball.

All of you picking Stanford are aware that we just moved a TE to Dline to help back up our injured players (you know those guys that faked against UW but were so banged up they got gashed by Utah). I am amazed. I am Picking Stanford to win, but do not think they will cover.

They have been using quick screens and dump outs to Sankey against blitzes so far this year and have had success using them. I do hope they find a way to involve ASJ more though. Just another dimension they aren't currently taking advantage of.

Sankey has gashed a few teams on blitzes. They find him in the pass and too many of the defensive players are already past him and he just flies down field. My problem with that is Sankey is getting too many carries and passes. They need to spread things out more and give this kid a break.

I think Stanford wins. UCLA hasn't put together a good 60 minutes yet this year and they will have to do that to beat Stanford. Stanford's front 7 will be too much for UCLA's young and thin O-Line to handle. Hundley will have to do deal with a ton of blitz's and this could rattle him. Also Hogan looked good against UCLA last year. I think it will be a close game but until I see otherwise Stanford is just too much for the Bruins.

Ugly as sin... Hopefully the auctions pull in more than what the costs of the uniforms were so it at least makes looking ugly worthwhile
