UW's win today was the largest margin of victory since curb stomping Oregon in '74.
This is why I went against them in the pick'em. UW has a long history of not going over 60pts out of respect. Heard coach baird tell a story about a game Don James was coaching against some nobody where they reached 52-0 and ordered no more passing plays the rest of the game. Well the QB did an audible and completed a pass and James went off on the OC.
I know it's sexy for some teams to want to reach 100 points, but I'm glad we still show respect for the cupcakes and don't pile it on. Sark shutting down the O in the 3rd was the right call. Why risk WR's getting injury for no reason.

Idaho State coach had nice words for Coach Sark and our team today on us not running up the score to 70+:

"One of the most outstanding examples of sportsmanship & care of another team I have ever seen".

I was nice to see both coaches greet each other so well after the game and both teams stayed on the field for a long time chatting.

The end result was good, but the execution not so much. First quarter was very sloppy and double digit penalties in the first half alone showed how these kids really didn't take that game seriously. Hard to blame them on some level, but that wasn't exactly a well oiled machine we saw out there.

The good news is even after that result the coaches have PLENTY to push those kids on this week to prepare for your team coming to town and I'm betting they have a big focus on those false starts and early game focus.

Of UW's 16 penalties, 10 were on the O-line. On paper, that would look real bad. But Sark mentioned during his interviews later that the Idaho State's D-line was "stemming", (shifting late) which triggered many of those penalties from our lineman. He claims this is illegal.

Although it's something we obviously need to get our Oline better schooled in, just in case someone else in the PAC tries to pull it during games against us.

But this might be something you see happen more frequently in the FCS conferences that can get away with more on the field from the refs or they were simply doing it out of desperation to attempt to slow down our O. Probably both. The PAC refs probably don't see a lot of it in our conf.

Ah that is straight up coaching they need to get fixed asap, that can be picked up on tape and that will be someone's game plan......

I found some irony in who was that last victim, but that wasn't the point at all. No UW HC in your lifetime has allowed piling on scores.

I wish the schools would all get together and outlaw ANY games vs FCS level teams. There is nothing good that comes out of them for anyone other than we give those poor schools some cash after we ass r*pe them so we feel better about ourselves. Piling on points just adds to the insult.

Those types of games are a real catch-22 for the bigger schools, imo!! Florida A&M goes to tOSU and takes a 76-0 beatdown, but they got a check for $900,000 which not only balances their athletic programs books for the season, but possibly makes them profitable!!

I hate seeing scores like that, but not getting those games could end up causing some of these schools to have drop some of their sports!!

And sometimes they do pull an upset, so the cash and the win is nice, like Wiz said I'm kinda glad the Dawgs have the respect to not run it that high...

That's the funny thing Mamba, IF I could get at em I would. There is NOT ONE poster on this site I wouldn't let have it if I thought they deserved something. I have NO FEAR...I have had the shit beaten outta me, I have beaten the shit out of others, I have lost 10000's of dollars in ventures, have made 10000's in ventures, been enough places on this globe that I have seen enough, have 2 degrees, held both my dying parents in my arms before death, have seen mayhem that others would care to never see. Been there done that I say. I'll rattle anyone I think has a stick up their azzler.

1 thing I have NEVER DONE is seen war, care never to. Hate the war mongers I do. Money can be better spent right here at home, wherever...starting with our veterans and their families.

Peace and prospairety to all I say.

Now that is what you call a MONOLOGUE!!!!! Go Wallace!!! I hope the academy is watching....

:agree: I don't like running it up like that just because they can!! Coaches should do like Sark apparently did and go completely vanilla on offense and clear the bench!! Get those kids who will likely never play another down, some time on the field!!:agree:

And keep your starters from getting a completely unnecessary injury. It's why Oregon's starters have played 7 quarters through 3 games

Does hurt their chances for stats and thus individual awards

This week, we are all Wlidcats

You must be mistaken. We were informed by your supreme leader that after beating UW for 9 straight years that they are no longer a rival. Were that to be true our games against anyone else would indeed be irrelevant. Since OcD speaks for you all I'm sure you simply failed to check with him before you made this error and will do better next time.

Oregon... 61 points a game in 22 minutes time of possession per game

Defense on the field 38 minutes and giving up 9 points a game.

Don't care who you are playing. That is impressive.

How does that compare to the last few years at the same stage?

Oregon looks great right now. But they always do at this point.

He's probably right but doesn't mean Husky tears aren't the sweetest

I don't think anyone knew if Sark would continue that tradition or not, but of course we were glad to see them do so. Many teams put their 2's and 3's out in blow out games, but UW had walk ons and players that would never normally see the field even in such games. It wasn't just a vanilla offense, it was a run play only with those far end bench players.

Yes, those small schools get money out of it that they desperately need to run their programs. Not sure that's really the concern of the big schools playing them. There is no good that comes out of these games at all. Nothing positive in any way, shape, or form. What did we learn about UW from that game? How does anything they did apply to next week? You risk your players injury to play in a game that doesn't equate to the level they will play the rest of the year. You learn more in scrimmage games against your own defense than you do in these games. They are terrible for fans and just pointless. They should be outlawed.
