I may try. Sounds like I'm heading back to the East Coast (Boston) this summer for my last tour before I retire

Man. That is awesome. 20+ year military career. Much respect!

My 16 year old is intrigued by that idea. If he joins a branch and likes it like he thinks he will, I could see him chasing his dream.

He has family that are career military.

I'm at 24 now. That'll give me 29. Then I can just be done and mow the grass on a golf course

I never planned on making it a career but it fit. Round peg round hole type of deal I guess

Which branch of the service are you in? I would've been a square peg in a round hole, so I never enlisted. One of my younger sisters joined the Navy SeaBees right out of HS and stayed active until married w/children. Went active reserve 'til the kids were in school, tried to re-up to fulltime but Clinton had been downsizing the military and made a rule that reservists couldn't rejoin fulltime. She's had to just let the time accumulate at the reserve level and won't have her 20 'til she's somewhere in her late 60's or early 70's.

"OH NEVER MIND" about O State Whizzer?

By the time your Dawgz come south to Corvallis it'll be late November and ALL the nicks and dings of a season will have added up. Keep your focus on the penalty count now tho, because those mistakes are tough to fix in the short term (in a season) while injuries and a seasons grind ALWAYS adds up and slow a team down by the end. Everything comes tough in the PAC and you know it.

"It'll ALL come easy and won't be tough for the Huskies by year's end." Good God son have you forgotten to load your "marble bag" up lately? Caught up in a 2-0 start ALREADY?:clap:

that's the ol' wubz we all know. UW has the depth to still be able to take out a sleepy beaver team in november. Never you worry about that. I mean you did manage a comeback win against Utah in overtime. Wait? UTAH? in overtime? :L Ok, now I'm scared. :behindsofa:

I have a son that is 5 years in the Navy. Nuclear propulsion specialist. Teaches reactor operators on a live reactor in upstate NY.

Much respect for all of our service personnel.

Maybe!! He sure looked good on Saturday!! Offense still needs work though!! Need fewer penalties and need to do a better job converting on 3rd down!!

Going to the game on Saturday!! We'll see what I think after that!!

Mannion leads FBS in yards and TDs. add that to a 73% completion pct.

Nice!! The kid can play!!

Kessler was 15-17 in his first game as the full time starter!! With an 80 yard TD pass to Marqise Lee!! His 2 incompletes were near misses on deep balls to Lee that would have been touchdowns!! I'll take it!!

And Illini by ONLY 10? Whose counting right? Here's 1 thing I saw @ Utah if only for 1 half and in OT, was a Beaver Defense! GO FIGURE. All positive when looking at the BIG picture called "a season of football", wouldn't you say? So far OSU is during it thru the air and that won't work all year long, hell I even can admit that. But for a moment and at the right moment, our defense WAS THERE. Kids are kids and lose focus on their job assignments. Saw that in the 2nd halfer, Utah rolled us up on D again. I saw positive things in that win Sat nite, including ANOTHER PAC road win, maybe we'll talk after you finish your 1st PAC road game in a couple of weeks or so.:laugh3:

Guess the Q when playing the Beavers is, "Can MY team score more than them?" If ya try to blitz Mannion, he'll burn you with screen passes...Riley loves that shit and his team throws a ton of em in games. Point is, yer boyz better "stay home" when playing us because "pinning your ears back" won't work...once we get our injured starting O-linemen back I except to see a better run game. Seems I heard that from a PAC poster on here @ 1 point about his team last year.

Your teams depth will be needed for sure this season, my God look at your conference schedule, which BTW I see common foes with the Beavers there. ANY win in the PAC is a good one and even sweeter on the road.

Stay easy and humble...it's a cruel world out there.:suds:

The only people who can find something positive about barely beating Utah would be a team that lost to EWU.

Mamba? Do we have a witness protection program on this board? I might need to 'relocate' if I keep picking on wallace.
