JBC is far more power oriented and I expect it to stay that way with the current personnel.

Lombardi merely tried to copy NO scheme and that worked fine for a QB who had the ability to scramble out of the pocket more so with Brees. Brees was simialr to that at Purdue so it was a strength of his

i sure hope so, but i'll still be kinda worried until we see it in action

you saw it in action in the last 3-4 games of season.

Hopefully with an offseason of scheming he can do better he was thrown in the deepend with an offensive line that was low on confidence. Plus we have some new hopefully better assistant coaches.

"Team Salary Cap: $166,000,000
Team Cap Space: $64,870,192"

Plus we can free up 5ish from Ngata retiring/cut and 4.5 from Pettigrew and whatever rollover we get from this year 6-10m 70-84 million in space

edit plus whatever we get from Tulloch will be space this year and rollover if it isn't used so 75-89 million in space

I'm going to try this again as the last one got all screwed up due to the operating engineer who's not an engineer at anything.

you won't even see 6-10M in rollover from this year. all late signings due to players on IR will eat that up. you need 10 players on PS that will cost roughly 7300.00 per person per week. your short 2 players for 53 man roster this year. The Tully cut I can see so long as he isn't injured and the same goes for Pettidrops. but I'm not counting on it until I see it in print. Ngata is doubtgul to be cut next year unless these DT's get their shit together in a fucking hurry.

2017 probablities in cap hits through extensions and 5th yr option for Ziggy

Ziggy 12.7M
Slay 12M
Reiff 11M
Taylor 7M
Riddick 4M
Warford 4M
Martin 2.5M
----------------
..........53.2M right there of that 64M which doesn't include 2017 rookies either or any cuts.

I stand corrected as it's doable with just guessing what cap hits might be for 2017. not actual annual avg of contracts. who else are we forgetting ?

it was too damn difficult to make any major changes mid-season yet alone on that trip across the pond or even in the first 3-4 weeks after becoming the OC. I expect JBC to get these players in a scheme that suits their skillsets. BQ may make some changes in personnel regarding the current scheme but I highly doubt any scheme changes from power because that's what all those OL are.

Hoodie works more from an athletic zone scheme but that's more due to Brady than anything else. Brady HAD the ability to move out of the pocket and to the side. We started to see some of that from Staffy but you won't see it often like you do from Brady or Rogers, imo.

Lions DT's A'Shawn Robinson, Haloti Ngata, Stefan Charles, Gabe Wright, Caraun Reid, Tyrann Walker.

Billings would be a great pick. Billings, Robinson, Ngata, Charles (played 50%+ snaps at 3-tech last year) Walker. could be a very good interior disruptive presence

You can jettison Wright and Reid after pre-season.

You are forgetting Kyrie Thorton. He was a day 2 pick for GB a few years ago and seems very capable already. Injuries derailed him early and GB did not want to wait. Austin seems higher on him than you may think, but who knows where BQs head is on that yet.

As far as the Glasgow pick, it was quite a surprise. he would have been there for us next round. Still I was looking for a center so I cant complain. Thats 2 versatile OL maulers so far that can play multiple positions. Need some defense and maybe a Backup QB and WR. If I had to guess we will still pick a LB, DE, QB, WR, and CB. 1 wild card pick or trade it to move up.

When are we going to trade Tully and a pick to Philly to move up in a round?

Hope Tully gets moved today, via trade or a release. ( hoping for you Old Lion)

I'm still all for trading a 4th next year and and our late 5th or early 6th to go up with Browns. Take Matakevich first then Killibrew mid 4th. Two more guys who will contribute day one. Then take Morgan TE and Burbridge WR next two picks.

Grab another LB and QB project. Then do a mic drop.

Would grab that Millhouse kid Big Blue found as UDFA if he makes through today. Nobody will take him from the PS but he has good skill set for a small school kid.

B.J. Goodson is who I want. Sideline to sideline thumper. Solid insurance in case Levy can't go. He was the defensive QB of Clemson defense.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of those LB listed in that Stomp thread. Perry has got the size over all of them and he does have skills to drop in coverage. Scooby, Kwiatkoski, Goodson, Matekevich, whomever the pick ends up being brings automatic competition to Whitehead and that's most important.

never would have seen this from Mayhew. He would have drafted Treadwell at #16

He would of traded up into the top of the second for A'shawn Robinson instead of waiting. Then after him signing his rookie contract, restructure it to pay more down the road.
