that's exactly what they side about Reiff and look what he's been able to do for 3 years. no sarcasm here on my part.

Don't put it past your belief that Decker can't be a LT.

They are the same guy Reiff has the LT experience

Looking at the talent still available I would give the Browns our 2017 4th and our second 2016 5th round pick (169) for that 99th or 100th slot tomorrow. Get a chance at at least one more starter from those two fourth round picks.

Love Reiff he needs to be extended we aren't going to do any better without it being a high pick

Slay will be first to be extended. Then it most likely will be Sam Martin. If they wanted Reiff to stay I think that extension may have been offered by now. BQ said any extensions will come after the Draft. Ziggy's 5th year option needs to be picked up also.

It's quite possible BQ doesn't want to spend 10-11M per on Reiff.

There's also Riddick and Devin Taylor to consider for extensions not to mention maybe and I do mean maybe Warford.

Fans think because Calvin's money is no longer in existence and the cap rising it'll be easy to sign all these players. It won't be easy at all.

I wouldn't want to spend it either, but if we let him walk its a serious set back and Stafford is just hitting his prime years(28 i think?) we could move Decker over and start another scrub at RT

doesn't mean that Decker can't become the LT and save 8.5M which would go to other extensions.

How much is Ziggy's 5th year option going to cost ? 11-12M ? then you add in Slay's extension.

The last thing BQ is going to do is put this team in salary cap hell. He's smarter than that

come on Stomp. Reiff would be a serious setback if he chooses to walk or isn't extended ?

In no way am I trying to get rid of Reiff but GD if I'm him I wait to reap the rewards of that 2nd contract on the open market of FA.

Look at what RG Osemele got for good grief. You think Reiff isn't smart enough to see that and knowing some team with a shitload of cap space won't offer him 13M per.

My guess is we will have to tag Slay if we want to keep him so 16+ for him and if they don't get Reiff extended they'll have to let him walk my guess is he'll get 13-14ish in free agency he is far better than any of the guys that were available this year plus 9% cap inflation

everyone was talking up Cordy Glenn so you're saying Reiff was better than him. Glenn got the franchise tag.

Yeah Cordy has never been a top 15 left tackle Reiff has in Linehans system

I highly doubt that he gets tagged. You don't spend the time to bring along a CB like Slay and NOT extend him.

Now Ziggy, I could see due to his age right now and picking up his 5th year option and then tagging him twice because he'll nearly be 30 or 31 at that time when those two tags are finished.

you sure about that because for all those who love to post PFF numbers I'm pretty sure Glenn was ranked #3 this past year. and Reiff was 16th.

fuck Linehans system. that was 2013 and this is 2016. Linehan isn't here anymore. that was then and JBC isn't running same as Linehan. Linehan was hybrid power with lots of sprinkles of zone mixed in. JBC has some of the same tendencies but Linehan's was to get quick 3-step, 5-step releases under 2.2 seconds for the most part

He hired Drew Rosenhaus for a reason he will be asking top dollar and with Tyrann mathieu also being up for a contract that number could be more than Normans. Something north of Janoris Jenkins will be his floor

I agree with you in that he'll ask for north of Jenkins and it may very well be top dollar over any CB.

Tyrann Matheiu has now had 2 ACL's in last three years. He's the last I'd be worried about. Cardinals are smarter than that to dump a high dollar on a two time ACL tear FS.

I think in a couple of years, the Jaguars defense will be scary. Good to see the Lions building those trenches.

They drafted another power tackle in Decker if they continue with the zone system they're stuck on stupid and we're fucked anyways. While i like a lot of what PFF does for the game their rating system is very flawed unless you're looking at a small sample size. Adding a players +- up at the end of the season is not a good way to rank players. Cordy or any left tackle would have struggled in lombardis system or trying to play zone when you aren't fast enough to get in position for the blocks

Ansah's 5th year option for 2017 will cost 12.7M

2016 Fifth-Year Option Tracker - NFL Trade Rumors -

you add in 13M, minimum, for Slay next year, then Stafford's 22M, Levy will cost an aditional 1M next year and you're not getting out of that contract. Marvin Jones gets a 2M raise in 2017, Tate a 1.2m increase and so on. All these lower teir players get nearly 100K raises.

Go look at 2016 vs 2017 cap. and The first thing you're going to tell me is another 12M cap increase.

They get last years pick of Dante Fowler healthy and Miles Jack while adding Ngakoue and Ramsey. On paper that is scary and FA Malik Jackson. be nice to see them return to divisional leaders when Coughlin was there

JBC is far more power oriented and I expect it to stay that way with the current personnel.

Lombardi merely tried to copy NO scheme and that worked fine for a QB who had the ability to scramble out of the pocket more so with Brees. Brees was simialr to that at Purdue so it was a strength of his

That's basically 4 very athletic players and a very good DT. You are effectively getting half your defense upgraded. Jack if healthy will be an animal. Ngakoue is underrated and Ramsey is the best DB prospect since Peterson. Hopefully Bortles makes some more strides this season. He looks promising. Team is the T-Wolves of the NFL and could be good really fast.
