One, Hextall has really cleaned up the mess that Holmgren left him, cap wise.

Two, there is minor league talent that can help this team.
The whole season will not depend on how Provorov plays, but expectations are high.

Three, they can rotate the goalies and go with whichever goalie is hot at the time.

I think this season comes down to scoring goals.
While that may seem like an obvious pick, it's really about scoring efficiency.
We're missing that sniper, so if we don't get balanced scoring, could be a long season.
Maybe Jake can get back to his scoring of two seasons ago and help a little with the scoring we need. He is not the true sniper we need but he can definitely score more than last season as we have seen in the past.

Thank you. Looking forward to the Sixers, Flyers, and Eagles.
Speaking of which, is there a forum for questions?
Is there a certian number of posts I have to reach before awaiting moderator approval?
Is it based on length of stay?

Kind of frustrating to post in another thread and see several pages go by before the post gets approved....

Didn't even know that was a thing! Can you access this board: Members Only!

That'd be a good place for questions. I think at some point there was a gate at 25 posts, but I don't remember what exactly that covered. I'll keep looking in to it.

I can view the threads in that link, but as soon as I click on one, I get an error.

Wouldn't the obvious choice be to sign the cheaper of the two to an extension and see what kind of trade value the other has?

Yes. Especially when the cheaper goalie is the one who had a statistical edge last season and performed better in the clutch moments of a huge playoff series.

It's a little more complex than that because Neuvy has never been the guy that starts 60+ games, so can he last and stay healthy? He will definitely be the cheaper option regardless, but it appears to be high risk/reward.

Mase will probably need more money and more years, but can he finally lock it down in the playoffs, when it really matters?

It would really be nice if we knew Stolarz could handle the pressures of being with the big club. That would make me feel much better about one of them going.
