I love the Olympics. Something special about being able to root for your country. I am just starting to get into it today. I'm sure I'll watch some tennis and basketball. Plenty of other sports, I see. And yes, Alex Morgan is ultra hot. Soccer was actually the first real sport that I played growing up. I remember it being a co-ed league and we finished 18-1 one year, avenging our only loss in the finals.

Hello boys! Just checking in to see how you all are doing? @awaz have you been keeping up with Alex Morgan? I swear she is going to age very well my friend.. I love tuning into the USA women's soccer just to check her out. :suds:

you know it! best team the US has if you ignore the entire sport of basketball like i do :)

Also helps the motivation that i grew up with Klingenberg (left back). We played on a coed team together until high school or so. We represented the US very well, our women's team in high school won states like 3 times and our men's team was terrible.

At least hockey is on the horizon. Olympic swimming is helping but baseball only is killing me.

Seems low just reading the headline, but it's tough to argue him over many of the 16 they have ranked above him. Hoping to see a big year from G and Jake this season. I feel like they're due. With Voracek hopefully healthy and G potentially having less defensive responsibility, maybe they break out.

Based on last season alone, it may be tough to put him ahead of a lot of those guys, but I'd have him top ten easily if we base this on the last 3, 4, 5 or even 6 seasons.

I think putting guys like Thornton and McDavid ahead of him is a little crazy though, without question. Thornton is too old and McDavid is too young. Plain and simple. They must highly value defense too with some guys like Toews, Bergeron, Kopitar and Pavelski way up there.

I'm doing well buddy. Very busy summer and it's going quickly. Been playing beach volleyball over the summer and playoffs will begin after this week. Just trying to stay in shape before fall and winter season hits. Lol.

If they both have the years we are expecting from them they will both be top 10 next season.

I thought the same thing for the same reasons as you on the McDavid and Thorton ratings. Maybe this will give Gee and V a goal of a higher ranking and in V's case making the list to shoot for this season.

They also clearly mention that Giroux is the top power play producer since 11/12 and I know he has the most points of anyone overall since 2010. So, those numbers definitely point to him being better than 17th among forwards.

He's also become one of the top faceoff men in the league. Only Crosby and Bergeron took more last season and only Bergeron had more wins. 57.5 win percentage is pretty unreal with close to 2,000 faceoffs taken.

As we all know, G is also very tough and durable, with an extremely high compete level. Elite players don't always have all of these attributes. I'm glad that he does.

I put zero stock in these rankings because they have failed to factor in a lot of this. Besides, G is basically in or entering his prime right now. He's going to be better this season and so will Voracek.

Also, McDavid has played half of one season on a bad team and they put him four spots ahead. Thornton is 37 with 18 seasons and close to 1400 games under his belt. Even if he's the next Jagr, I'm not ready to take him over G. Those choices make the list a bit of a joke.

Even Johnny Gaudreau may be too young to insert ahead of him. He's dynamic clearly, but has really only had one good season on a bad team and is just turning 23. Get back to me in a couple seasons.

Mall I watched the game last night and saw Mallory Pugh. In a couple of years when she turns 21 will make you watch the women's team for years to come.

Chris Pryor promoted from director of scouting to Flyers assistant general manager

seems like mostly a paper promotion to me.. but i'm cool with it, i've liked how the Flyers have drafted for a long time. they just didn't give Pryor enough picks to work with for a chunk of his time. The only truly botched pick, if you even want to call it that, was the JvR pick. But that was a pretty mediocre draft after Kane anyway so it's tough to call it that.

Why do we need two assistant GM's?
